@countcaspargh @ThinkingMummy That makes much more sense. The little snide remarks of “Come to the party Chris” (thinking I’m my own friend on fb that comments etc) 🙄

How sweet. Ian Frankum thinks it was those in favour of the AST who vandalised the filters, drove through the bus gates, shouted at Councillors, intimidated Officers. Whose head's in the sand? He's got his high traffic neighbourhood, why does he even need to write this stuff?

@grocer_on_green @DangleSpanners @BiddyBike This one, was going to 'help' double the number of people using the station. A worthy aim, but free car parking and paid for bike parking isn't an active travel scheme. Good for councillors though, helps them show residents complaining about lack of street spaces.

@DaveTuner1 @DangleSpanners @BiddyBike They are indeed fair collects to those that it applies to. If being used by those who don’t require assistance or happily budget for running costs of expensive vehicles or could also walk/cycle, then not so much imo 🤷🏻‍♂️ What “active travel” car park was that?

It's been interesting seeing the driving journeys people share who were against Exeter's recent road changes. I often think why on earth would you drive that? No wonder they are so angry all the time. Journey time consistency is one of many great reasons to cycle.

@grocer_on_green @DangleSpanners @BiddyBike Fair comments really, shame the active travel money spent at Pinhoe Station to build a residents car park didn't go on making Polsloe more accessible really.

@DangleSpanners @BiddyBike Think I’ve heard/come across comments of…. “But the bus costs too much & isn’t frequent/reliable enough” And “Polsloe Bridge isn’t accessible for disabled users or those with prams/buggys/“

@HantsPolRoads Looking forward to seeing your officers out and about following your own advice. Before going to the effort to change unforms seasonally, you might want to have a quick check of what's effective first medicalxpress.com/news/2013-11-h…

Cyclists, be safer, be seen! 🦺 Road users can't look out for you if you are in dark clothing and can't be seen. Contrasting clothing makes you visible, wear pink in the summer, yellow and orange in the winter. #ItsNotWorthTheRisk

@DangleSpanners @BiddyBike Those aren't investments that were primarily to meet growing demand though. They were largely replacement of existing facilities which had come to end of life.

@DaveTuner1 @BiddyBike That makes sense to me. A growing city needs growing services. Pyramids was costing £££s to keep going. More central government funding needed. Plus the Teignbridge side development is going to cause problems 4 generations

Unfortunately it's this nonsense that @exeterlabour @philbialyk @steve_race have just endorsed. The report put in front of them was full of this nonsense but they voted for its recommendations regardless.

And Cllr. Bialyk only joined HATOC last month so ‘throughout’ is doing some heavy lifting.

My response to the HATOC committee meeting today at @DevonCC. DCC must come forward with a plan to tackle traffic and to improve public transport and active travel. No plan B is not good enough, for the safety & health of residents, the economy of the city, and the environment.

@DangleSpanners @BiddyBike All the CiL funding coming in to help mitigate the impact of development in Pinhoe and east of Exeter has been used on the leisure centre and now for the cities waste service. That funding needs to be ring fenced somehow.

@BiddyBike Many of them seemed unaware of bus routes & Polsoe bridge Station 🤷‍♂️ Saying that, many highly populated areas of the city are badly served by public transport or alt transport. Heavitree & Wonford, Pinhoe etc That's b4 we look at the new builds going up to the east & west

The Tories say Labour's plans would cost £2,000 - but if you apply their methodology to their own (published) tax plans it works out at a £3,000 tax rise. My thoughts on the madness of election-maths: spectator.co.uk/article/on-sun…
