Thinking Mummy
@ThinkingMummy
Quietly wondering about things... mostly in Exeter.

"Would you be happy sharing, not owning, a car?" The WEF: "The Netherlands is building a neighbourhood where every car must be shared. There'll be one vehicle for every three homes, and no space for privately owned cars." "Residents will be encouraged to cycle, use public transport, or borrow from a pool of shared cars... And everything that residents need will be within walking distance." So, in response to the WEF's question, WOULD you be happy sharing, not owning, a car? 🤔

God help us

@DevonCC is consulting on improvements to four bus corridor areas in the city: devon.gov.uk/roads-and-tran… Better bus infrastructure not only improves the reliability of buses, it also improves blue light response times, taxi costs, and cycling safety.

Locally this makes so much sense. Ward councillors would have a much much harder time making arguments against Child Safety Zones. Opposing Low Traffic Neighbourhoods doesn't really show them in a bad light. Nice one @Chris_Boardman

I can't stop thinking about how many other women this might be happening to worldwide. How many women think they are going mad due to the drug side effects? How many women are living with STDs they have no clue about? When I climb into bed at night I know I'm safe, I know my partner would never hurt me. They will be many women out there who can't say the same. I know it's not all men but how do women know which ones it is. 50 years she was with him and he did this to her. mirror.co.uk/news/world-new…

@weareyellowdot This. Over and over. About all of the things.

'Former Transport Secretary Mark Harper was humiliated when a study intended to prove LTNs were hated showed they were popular and effective; reduced driving; had limited adverse impacts on boundary roads; and didn't adversely affect emergency services'. theguardian.com/environment/bi…
