btw I am not "anti-Israel." I'm not an "anti-Zionist," depending on how we're defining the word Zionist (I am like many normie liberals against the settlements, the occupation, and the brutalization of Palestinians, but supportive of a democratic Jewish state). I am a boring-ass two state solution person who thinks both Israelis and Palestinians would be best served by each group coexisting in side-by-side countries. Palestinians are incredibly ill-served by the murderous tyrants of Hamas (to put it very mildly). But if you think Israel is being well-served by its current government... then yeah we very much disagree.

The multiple reports of sexual assault and misconduct by women staffers and others about Rep. Swalwell are detailed, disturbing, corroborated by contemporaneous accounts and all too compelling. These allegations are disqualifying in many ways. He should follow the advice of his campaign chairman and California colleagues and end his campaign. My thoughts are with the survivors.

I’ve read the San Francisco Chronicle’s reporting and I take it seriously. What is described is indefensible. Women who come forward with accounts like this deserve to be heard with respect, not questioned or dismissed. I regret having come to his defense on social media prior to knowing all the information. I am equally as shocked and upset about what has transpired. I am withdrawing my endorsement of Congressman Swalwell, effective immediately.

No details, no names, no dates, just rumors or secondhand allegations from “a friend.” do they all have the same friend or are there multiple friends? If this is real, there should be proper and credible reporting with actual details. Even with identities protected, it should be more than just “a friend said so.” These read like an op against Swalwell from the same central source. MESSAGE I wholeheartedly endorse the powerful appeal for peace made by the Holy Father, Pope Leo, during his Palm Sunday Mass. His call for the laying down of arms and the renunciation of violence resonated profoundly with me, as it speaks to the very essence of what all major religions teach. Indeed, whether we look to Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, Judaism or any of the world's great spiritual traditions, the message is fundamentally the same: love, compassion, tolerance, and self-discipline. Violence finds no true home in any of these teachings. History has shown us time and again that violence only begets more violence and is never a lasting foundation for peace. The Lebanese Ministry of health is preparing an official complaint which will be lodged with the UN Security Council about Israel’s attacks on journalists and health workers in the country

Israeli strikes in south Lebanon just this morning have killed seven paramedics and wounded seven more. Three journalists covering the attacks have also been killed.

Israel is now openly claiming it is justified in killing journalists because the reporters may expose the positions of Israeli forces. That is a radical and stark break from the norms of warfare and truly must be stopped.
