The IDF just confirmed that around 1,500 Canadians recently served in its ranks, as recently as last year.
Canada must align with its commitment to international law.
That means lawmakers must speak out now about the need to investigate any soldiers who may have committed war crimes in the Gaza genocide. Canada has already noted that the IDF breached various human rights obligations in its brutal campaign.
Our position remains the same as it always has. Anyone who commits a war crime should be held to account.
The RCMP has also confirmed it will be collecting information from the public regarding war crimes in Gaza by all sides.
It is time for our elected officials to speak out now.
