Golden Dome on track to deliver operational capability by 2028. A consortium of nine defense firms building the command and control (C2) layer for the Pentagon’s Golden Dome missile defense shield recently conducted a live demonstration, and according to the effort’s czar Gen. Michael Guetlein, proved it’s on target to deliver an operational capability by 2028. Defense officials have said command and control is key to Golden Dome’s ability to connect sensors across air, land, and space into a common operating picture. U.S. Northern Command boss Gen. Gregory Guillot reiterated the importance of the C2 layer, noting that no single sensor could provide military leaders with the information they need to track and respond to advanced missile threats throughout the pre-launch and terminal phases.

Victor Davis Hanson says global signals suggest the tide is turning against Iran, arguing U.S. military dominance and shifting alliances point toward a potential collapse if pressure continues: “There’s enough evidence to see how things are really going. Europeans would never agree to go anywhere near Iran unless they thought the tide was turning and that we’re going to win. Otherwise, they would keep still. And the reason that the petro nations of the Gulf survive is they have their finger in the wind and are very attuned to the climate. When you have Al Jazeera praising the United States’ bombing campaign and saying that it’s been underestimated and is brilliant and effective, you get the feeling that they think not only should the United States finish the job, but that it can and will finish the job. So you put it all together, and I think it’s pretty clear that this rope-a-dope strategy—that we’re going to tire before they do—is dependent on public opinion, the midterms, and the United States. And if Trump sees it through—and I think he will—I think they’re going to fall pretty soon.”

This robotic hand can be 3D printed by anyone and assembled in under 8 hours. Researchers at ETH Zurich created the Orca hand, fully open-sourced with artificial bones and tendons. For context, advanced robotic hands cost over $100,000 and require constant maintenance... Orca costs under $2,000. 50x less (!) A self-calibration system maps every motor to every joint, eliminating the manual tuning that tendon-driven hands usually need. Each fingertip has built-in tactile sensors covered by silicone skin. The hand can actually feel when it touches something, giving it feedback to grip objects without crushing them or letting them slip. It can hold over 20 lbs, learn tasks by watching human demonstrations, and transfer skills trained in simulation directly to the real world. The team proved its durability by having it pick up and place a cube over 2,000 times across 7 hours with no human intervention. The full design files and source code are open source, so any robotics lab in the world can start building one today.

Three Charged with Conspiring to Unlawfully Divert Cutting Edge U.S. Artificial Intelligence Technology to China “The indictment unsealed today details alleged efforts to evade U.S. export laws through false documents, staged dummy servers to mislead inspectors, and convoluted transshipment schemes, in order to obfuscate the true destination of restricted AI technology—China,” said John A. Eisenberg, Assistant Attorney General for National Security. “These chips are the product of American ingenuity, and NSD will continue to enforce our export-control laws to protect that advantage.” 🔗: justice.gov/opa/pr/three-c…

@RKLBMan @Clays26 @TheSkayeth That depends who can most quickly get their medium-lift rocket off the ground will be second imo. $FLY or $RKLB. That's going to be a huge revenue generator for either company. Yet $FLY is worth 1/10th ($3.5B) of $RKLB ($35B) but not so far off in backlog of $1.4B (vs $2B).

@Clays26 @TheSkayeth $RKLB is worth $35B. SpaceX is worth ~$1.75T. It's not apple to apples today. But $RKLB will be the second best space company available and there's absolutely no debate.

SpaceX is merging with xAI ahead of a 2026 IPO. When SpaceX goes public, every space stock gets repriced overnight. $RKLB has a 100% launch success rate and an $1.85 billion backlog. That valuation gap won't last.

Tesla Semi is super fun to drive
Sawyer Merritt@SawyerMerritt

WSJ: Tesla Finally Has Its First Semi-Truck and It’s Already a Hit With Truckers. "Truckers who drove it in pilot tests say they loved features including a centered driving position, faster charging and longer range for about $100,000 less than other battery-electric trucks. Angel Rodriguez, a 56-year-old truck driver for Hight Logistics in Long Beach, Calif., recently swapped out a 13-gear diesel truck for a Tesla Semi, which is automatic, for a one-month pilot test. “It’s just easier on your body. It’s less stressful because you’re not really having to engage the clutch and the stick shift.” Big F Transport employs five mechanics to service more than 40 diesel-powered rigs and a fleet of trailer chassis in Wilmington, Calif. “If we go all EV we will only need one [mechanic] to service chassis,” said Geovanny Melendez, the carrier’s VP of operations, who went to see the Semi earlier this month at a ride-and-drive event near the Port of Long Beach. Jennie Abarca, co-founder and CEO of King Fio Trucking in Long Beach, Calif., once worked as a truck dispatcher and her husband is a truck driver, so she knows all too well the toll a diesel engine takes on people’s lungs and hearing. She eventually wants to swap out King Fio’s 27 diesel trucks to create an all-electric fleet. King Fio already has 11 battery-electric trucks from Volvo and Nikola. But the company limits those trucks to shorter trips to and from local ports because they only have a range of about 225 miles. The Semi, by contrast, can travel 500 miles on a single charge, according to Tesla. For King Fio that means two or three round-trips a day from Long Beach to warehouses in the nearby Inland Empire or a single round-trip to Las Vegas. She has 20 Semis on order. “The Teslas change everything,” Abarca said. “It opens up a whole different type of delivery that I can make.”

Tesla now has four V4 Supercharging stations open across the U.S. capable of delivering up to 500 kW charging speeds. • Kissimmee, Florida (opened this week) • Gatlinburg, Tennessee (opened last week) • Taylorsville, Utah (opened Jan 2026) • Redwood City, California (opened Sept 2025) As of this week, Tesla's Giga New York factory will now only produce these new V4 cabinets, which means 500kW Tesla Supercharging stations are going to start popping up everywhere pretty soon. Note: 500KW charging is currently only available on the Cybertruck. S3XY vehicles get 250kW charge rates they already experience on existing Superchargers.
