@SuellaBraverman The only people going to University are the ones too daft to understand that an apprenticeship gets you training, a job, and no debt.

Yep. Too many young people have been conned by the Great University Scam. Unless you’ve got a place at a top university on a high value course, don’t bother. Avoid the debt trap, get an apprenticeship and start working, earning and moving on with your life.

Student debt is making it harder for first-time buyers to own a home, says the boss of one of the biggest housebuilders. David Thomas from Barratt Redrow tells @seanfarrington it is one factor in making homes less affordable. Big Boss Interview: bbc.in/4dPCUXR

Interesting that despite it being a standalone match, Somerset have scheduled their women's T20 v Yorkshire for 2:30pm today I assume the reason is that it's half-term, but I hadn't seen much advertising for it until yesterday. There's been little build-up pushing it as... 1/8

@kelvmackenzie The real problem is that daily in this country, more people are dying than are being born , the average age of first time motherhood is at an all time high, teenage births at an all time low, fertility rate is 1.4 children per woman and there will soon be 6 million over 80!

Official figures show an unbelievable 4 in 10 babies born in England and Wales last year were to foreign parents, with India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Romania and Bangladesh being the top 5. At this rate it’s only three decades or so before we are no longer a white country as “ foreign” parents produce more children than indigenous ones. It’s tough to discuss these figures ( from the ONS) as inevitably you are branded a racist and they may or may not worry you, but the outcome is now inescapable. I suspect if the reverse were true, Indian or Pakistan were going white, there would be a healthy debate. Over here nothing but mumblings. Strange.

It’s time to end the de facto ban on air conditioning. Only 3% of British homes have air con compared to 90% of homes in the US, or Japan. We need to overturn our miserabilist approach to energy which says we alone can’t have air con or AI. Let’s Make Britain Cool Again 🇬🇧

The UK just recorded its ‘hottest ever May day.’ At Heathrow Airport, next to a runway full of jumbo jets. The same trick they pulled in 2022 at RAF Coningsby while fighter jets were landing. This is how the climate scare machine works. conservativewoman.co.uk/must-every-sun…

Don't understand what the Kenyon debate is. Jokes with friends in private is one thing. But Twitter is not a private space. It's a public space. It's why we all come here. If you want to stand for public office accept that and take responsibility. Or go and do something else.

Grammar schools are moving their entrance exams from September to July to prevent pupils having to spend their summer holidays studying Schools believe the change will improve equality for all entrants. Children from more affluent families often get tutors over the summer months to prepare for the test, and this can leave less-wealthy families at a disadvantage. 🔗: telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/05/2…

There is no way to reduce the British state's fiscal problems and get inflation under control that doesn't involve around £100 billion in spending cuts. Any pundit or politician telling you otherwise is lying to you.
