A bit lost in the good news of the Enbridge $4B Sunrise expansion is that 36 nations got a 12.5% stake in Enbridge’s Westcoast natural gas pipeline system last year with the first federal Indigenous loan guarantee, to help pave the way for this. It's good to be reminded that there are pathways for mutual benefit and we have good tools and willingness to find those, including in BC and including on pipelines. Only one chance in this lifetime… Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him. I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.

The very idea of a ‘notwithstanding clause’ was invented in our Alberta Legislature. And it was Peter Lougheed, Alberta’s premier during the tense constitutional talks of the early 1980s, who advanced the idea of inserting a notwithstanding clause in the Canadian Charter. Yup — the ‘notwithstanding clause’ was made in Alberta.

While Mayor of Calgary, Naheed Nenshi travelled to China on a trip bankrolled by the World Economic Forum and a Chinese government agency. He repeatedly billed taxpayers for trips to Davos and even accepted an all-expenses-paid stay at the Rockefeller Foundation’s retreat in Italy. Seeing him get this rattled when the facts are put on the record is something else.

New NDP boss Avi Lewis has made it very clear that he wants to elect Naheed Nenshi to shut down the Alberta oil and gas industry.

Alberta is the place to be! We’re seeing record-breaking tourism, with a growing number of international visitors choosing Alberta. It’s amazing to see people from around the world falling in love with our province, just like we all have.
