I am in total shock rn. They are literally BULLDOZING abandoned vehicles right outside where I escaped minutes earlier. We got out JUST in time. 5min later and we would’ve been trapped. 😳 and the winds haven’t even fully started yet. In a few hrs it’s supposed to get BAD.. #pray

A little personal announcement as we brace for 2025: #NYR will return to practice at 11am today, but as I mentioned on last week's pod, I'm about to embark on my remaining paternity leave. I feel a little weird about missing a few weeks now, but I prioritized coming back early for training camp and the start of the season, figuring I could save the rest of my leave for January, when there's typically a lull in the season. (Little did I know...) I hope everyone understands that this is precious time I can't get back with my family. It's a chance to make up for moments missed while I've been grinding the last few months, and with my rockstar wife returning to work next week, it's also a chance to save on daycare costs for a little extra time. (Those with kids feel the pain.) The coverage won't halt while I'm out. I've got a new story coming next week with a big-picture outlook on the decisions facing the Rangers, and we'll still have reporters covering most games. Big thanks to @RobertAitkenJr, @seanfarrell92 and @Bert_Bainbridge for having my back on that. (You should follow them if you don't already!) I'm sure I'll still chime in from time to time (in between diaper changes and feedings) and be back before you know it. I'm very grateful for all the loyal readers and followers and wishing you all a very happy new year!

Over the last 4 months I have talked many times with 4 white men who were going to vote for Trump (2 in Maine, 1 in FL, & 1 in CA). I gave them facts and hammered away at how Trump would affect them & those they love, & also hurt their finances None are voting for Trump today.

186 Maine legislative seats and three federal rep seats are up for grabs in November. Out of all those races, why'd Susan Collins give $$$ to the one awful anti-choice guy blasted by folks in both parties for his vile comments on abortion and God's will and Lewiston? #mepolitics

Hard to see Roe getting codified in 2025-6 unless Allred wins -- which may be why Susan Collins just sent $5,000 to anti-choice stalwart and jacket-and-tie-insurrectionist Ted Cruz. Worth keeping in mind the next time Maine/DC media assure you Collins is pro-choice. #mepolitics
