@GergelyOrosz So I pay $25 a month to Supabase on a Pro plan and get daily backups (trailing 7 days) Is a 30 day backup standard with other DB providers??? I’m still wrapping my head around this

Sucks for an AI agent to delete the prod DB - with no way to back it up - and risk the complete rental business. But the blame sits with the dev who decided to delegate decision making to the AI agent, and then not review actions, just YOLO it. Time for a blameful postmortem...

@Titans_Evan23 If he doesn’t, there’s no reason to be sad because he’s gonna make somebody’s roster, and that’s what’s important. As great of a story as he has, we gotta worry about us and do what’s best for the Tennessee Titans.

@eagleseyeinc Oh man good advice You have to be “friends with yourself” for lack of a better phrase. Be OK being alone, enjoy your own company, talk to yourself, think about the world and the past and the future, and it makes you a better friend, coworker, partner etc

solo dates hacks every man should try, at least once every year 1. take yourself to the cinema alone. buy popcorn. pick a seat you actually want. laugh, cry if you need to. no one talking to you. just you and the movie. 2. go to a cafe on a weekday. order a drink and a small pastry. sir by the window and face your phone down for a bit. watch people going to work, students rushing, cars passing, birds singing, children playing, just life moving in that pace. 3. book a nice but affordable hotel in your city. pack a small overnight bag like you're traveling. order room service or buy food on the way. take a long cold shower, wear your robe, lie on the bed and do nothing if you want. journal, watch a movie, listen to a relaxing music, sleep in clean white sheets and covers with the ac on. 4. take yourself on a saturday breakfast. wake up early, shower, wear something cute. go somewhere that serves breakfast. sit there, and order something nice. enjoy your meal, take some selfies even if you not photogenic. 5. enjoy yourself man. come on, you deserve it. you need it. bookmark and share to others buena suerte 👍

@TitanUpSqueaky @traviebird00 Agreed. I need to read a research article from an insider about how in the HELL our offensive line got BETTER after Bill Callahan. Could his experience have just aged out in a modern NFL? I gotta know! He was viewed as our OL Savior but….didnt work out at all

@traviebird00 I might be delusional but if we bring back Zeitler I don't think we have anything to worry about with the O-line this year, it was pretty damn good second half of the year and it isn't much different + better o-line coach

@craigzLiszt Will a 16 year old just call a car to get to school? What will our cutoff age be to reserve a car by yourself, or will that be up to the parents (to an extent or course) What a paradigm shift from our current view of “you have to be 25 to rent a car from Hertz”

@HodlFlorida I do wonder if the new generation of investors will choose the “rent a house and put all money in stocks/coins” strategy vs our current/legacy real estate investment view of “dump money into primary residence + rentals” Admittedly it sounds freeing on its surface haha

My wife and I were just talking about how in 2 years, we could probably buy a new place and rent out the townhouse we own now. After about 10 minutes of talking, we decided having to deal with renters would suck. We would both rather just put the equity in Bitcoin and a new house. I feel like more people will start to realize this is an option. Bitcoin doesn’t give you income though but it appreciates faster. Owning more real estate has always seemed so cool. I don’t think it’s as beneficial as it once was unfortunately. Just thinking out loud here. Idk. Thoughts?

@themoviedadsc I agree and feel the same way and hope you’re right. Project Hail Mary in a packed IMAX with kids and adults wearing NASA shirts and laughing the entire movie and a standing ovation at the end. I had a grin ear to ear for 2 hours for $20 bucks, now THAT was fun

Probably the cinema lover in me, but I think we're turning a cultural reset corner. "We" are done optimizing our lives to do everything at home (streaming). "We" want to be out more and experience things communally. Sure, it costs more... But "we" want to live more now.
Conor Sen@conorsen

The fact that seemingly every major Hollywood film has been beating box office expectations lately and it’s increasingly being driven by premium screens is an interesting trend given the broader affordability discourse.

My boss's boss is like 42, never married, no kids. Earns $275-300K per year. Goes on a minimum of two international vacations a year w/ his girlfriend. 10+ days, all out. Eats the best food, stays in top notch accomodations. Excursions, tours, nicest beaches, etc. Great guy, I'm happy for him. But what I've realized is that without kids, you end up chasing a lifestyle that has to continually be topped in order for you to be satisfied and find happiness. What he and others like him don't understand is that when you have children, seeing THEM experience life's most basic things and watching their eyes light up at all the "firsts", brings greater pleasure and joy than any vacation or travel experience ever could. Seeing THEM try blueberries for the first time is greater than dining at the best 5 star restaurant in Europe. Seeing THEM learn how to walk is greater than walking the Great Wall of China or strolling along the most picturesque beach. Watching THEM giggle uncontrollably at "peek-a-boo" tops any A-list comedian act. Seeing THEIR excitement when building a fort out of cardboard boxes and making a door big enough for daddy is superior to staying at 5-star resorts. Flying kites with THEM far outweighs excursions like parasailing or helicopter rides. Seeing THEM perform a recital on stage for the first time is more rewarding than watching a Broadway show or top notch symphony orchestra. ----------------- When you have children, all of a sudden you realize that life's greatest joys are not in the pursuit of things or pleasure or travel, but rather in the LOVE and bond you share with your very own image bearers. Seeing the beauty and magnificence and wonder of life all over again for the first time through THEIR eyes and expressions gives you something the world simply cannot offer, nor even come close.

@ben_j_todd @DKThomp Oh yeah no doubt that’s the hard part is the brains instructing the voice exactly what to say, giving parameters and guardrails ie you can offer up to X in exact use cases etc. But just hearing the natural intonations and inflections a damn near free app can produce gives me hope

Agree, but I think you may also need pretty strong agentic capabilities, rather than only the ability to talk naturally. When I speak to call centre workers it's usually to fix some kind of problem (e.g. with my credit card), so the AI would need to have access to sensitive info and the ability to take actions (like mailing a new card), and you'd need to trust it not to do crazy stuff. I agree Claude can already do stuff like debug technical issues, but I mostly wouldn't speak to call centre workers to do that before.

@0xDesigner I’ve been thinking about this a lot as I get really close to launch - positioning. The duration to build the product and the number of folks on the team could read as “vibe coded” to many potential clients. Of course not going to lie but as they say: “tell the truth attractively”

the biggest lesson i’ve learned as a solo builder is that you have to lie and tell people the product was built by a team. no one will believe you can make anything useful alone (you can). and they won’t give it a fair shot because it will be perceived as a hobby product.
