My boss's boss is like 42, never married, no kids. Earns $275-300K per year. Goes on a minimum of two international vacations a year w/ his girlfriend. 10+ days, all out. Eats the best food, stays in top notch accomodations. Excursions, tours, nicest beaches, etc. Great guy, I'm happy for him. But what I've realized is that without kids, you end up chasing a lifestyle that has to continually be topped in order for you to be satisfied and find happiness. What he and others like him don't understand is that when you have children, seeing THEM experience life's most basic things and watching their eyes light up at all the "firsts", brings greater pleasure and joy than any vacation or travel experience ever could. Seeing THEM try blueberries for the first time is greater than dining at the best 5 star restaurant in Europe. Seeing THEM learn how to walk is greater than walking the Great Wall of China or strolling along the most picturesque beach. Watching THEM giggle uncontrollably at "peek-a-boo" tops any A-list comedian act. Seeing THEIR excitement when building a fort out of cardboard boxes and making a door big enough for daddy is superior to staying at 5-star resorts. Flying kites with THEM far outweighs excursions like parasailing or helicopter rides. Seeing THEM perform a recital on stage for the first time is more rewarding than watching a Broadway show or top notch symphony orchestra. ----------------- When you have children, all of a sudden you realize that life's greatest joys are not in the pursuit of things or pleasure or travel, but rather in the LOVE and bond you share with your very own image bearers. Seeing the beauty and magnificence and wonder of life all over again for the first time through THEIR eyes and expressions gives you something the world simply cannot offer, nor even come close.

@ShadowofEzra My children are MY property as long as they live in MY house. They are NOT the property of the U.S. government.

Thomas Massie’s opponent, Ed Gallrein, says he wants to bring back the military draft for “national security” reasons. He complains that the current system is too slow when it comes to sending large numbers of young Americans off to a potential world war. "That is a significant issue for national security." "I'm not sure we have that kind of time anymore."

@ZubyMusic @JayDyer That's because the congressmen & women who take a stand to push for more transparency & accountability are being targeted by the current administration. Look at what happened to MTG, Massie, & Boebert. Those in power want the public to forget & move on. The swamp still exists!

It feels like most people have forgotten about the Epstein files... I had a conversation with @JayDyer to find out what he learned from them. It's more than disturbing. New episode on the Real Talk with Zuby podcast. Available now.

@creation247 This is the way to combat poor judgement and laziness. If you can't be bothered to actually write something genuine, why should I be bothered to actually read it? Even if you use AI to generate or flesh out ideas, AT LEAST make the effort to put it into your own words.

We interviewed NYT best-seller Joshua Lisec This is what happens when he detects AI: "When someone feels it's AI is a wall goes up. It's because they demonstrate by copying and pasting the output that they don't actually know if what they're saying is true or not."

@BlackLabelAdvsr I hate Instagram. Turns you into a mindless, scrolling zombie. Requires zero reading or thinking skills as opposed to X which is text heavy. One quick way to validate the shallowness of it is to look at the comments on posts. Average # of words is 5 or less!

Regarding the MASSIVE decline in state level reading scores... I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that there's a good chance the first chart has a lot in common with the second chart.

This woman is going viral after drinking half her can of Alani energy drink only to feel something thud against her lips before discovering an entire mouse at the bottom of the can. I’m done drinking from cans.

@DisrespectedThe Trump said he thought that oil would go up to $200 a barrel, or even $300 due to the war in Iran. Could you imagine that...!

@johnhamulak Timeshares get a bad rap but we had one for 6+ years and loved it. Always had a full kitchen and laundry in the unit.

@LargeFamDad I feel you. We can’t use hotels anymore either. Sometimes the timeshare versions have big suites with kitchens. Otherwise it’s almost always a rental house or apartment.

POV: searching for travel lodging as a large family. Hotel rooms won't work. Hotel suites won't work. Need a full kitchen. Need a highchair. Need a washer & dryer. Need a crib or pack-n-play. Minimum 4 beds, 2 bathrooms.

@FRXianHumanist @kevinolearytv And you trust our government to prevent all that lol?! With our own massive deep state of corruption (no, Trump has not drained the swamp) we have no moral high ground to stand on. Billionaires in the U.S. and China are above the laws of both countries & do whatever they want.

@LargeFamDad @kevinolearytv If they can do this, they can nudge us toward communism or civil war, rig our elections, manipulate us into unfair trade with them, cripple our military, make us dependent on their autonomous military tech, and then rule us by proxy. Whatever they want. We're their sandbox.

At a certain point, money stops being the motivation. I don’t work 18 hours a day because I need more wealth, I do it because I want to build something extraordinary that my children can be proud of. What drives me now is competing in the AI race and making sure North America, not China, leads the future of advanced technology. That’s why I’m building sustainable data centers at scale to prove we can out innovate, out build, and out compete while doing it the right way.

@PorcellianView @kevinolearytv Who cares?!! Let China build their own chip factories if they want to! If they end up better than American products, SO WHAT! We don't HAVE to be superior in everything. Billionaires want us to because they get more wealth & power. It matters VERY little to the rest of us.

AI race isn't just about hardware but also software and the ecosystem it creates. Having better hardware means competitors like China use American products and thereby have to use the surrounding ecosystem. That ecosystem is soft power and control. Who would you rather have that? US or China?

@MattWalshBlog I'm so tired of Americans having to mortgage our children's future to win some theoretical "race with China". We are not pawns. We don't care about your stupid game. And we sure as heck don't care about your egos. This doesn't protect Americans. You're in this to retain power.

Big Tech companies are sprinting forward, building data centers as fast as they can, sometimes using eminent domain to seize the land by force, making their AI more and more powerful, expanding the technology at lightening speed with no guardrails of any kind at all. Yet none of these tech gurus or any of their apologists have even attempted to explain what exactly all of the millions of people who lose their jobs, and the increasing numbers who lose their homes, all sacrificed on the AI altar, are supposed to do. How does society support millions of unemployed and displaced people? What becomes of a society where algorithms and machines do everything, and a few people become trillionaires while millions more lose everything? There is no answer to any of this. They aren’t even attempting to answer it. Instead we’re simply told that China exists and we have to “beat them” in some unspecified way, in order to achieve some unspecified goal. We’re going to obliterate entire industries, entire categories of jobs all at once, and the only justification anyone can give is “China.” It’s madness.

@LargeFamDad This is so relatable. 😅My seven range in ages from 21-9 now. (With six left at home.) Sometimes we make do in rooms with 2 queens + a pull out couch, but it gets cozy. It gets better when baby gear is less necessary.

We have squeezed all of us, my mom included, into the bigger suites at Drury Inn, with two kids sleeping on armchair-ottoman configurations and all of us sharing one bathroom. 😂 With three full size teens now we have to get two rooms. But I discovered an extended stay Hilton on our most recent trip and I think we could make that work! They have kitchens!
