I got a cardiac angiogram recently because of family history. The peace of mind it gave me for now was worth any cost. My non-profit idea/dream is to subsidize these tests for all who want them until we can make the cost minimal.

Joel Jamieson did everything right and was still walking around with a 50% blockage in his widowmaker artery. He’s a world-renowned cardiovascular expert who doesn't smoke, doesn't drink, sleeps well, manages stress, trains consistently, and has a VO2 max probably north of 55. He got screened at 40 and found it. He had zero symptoms the entire time. This is the core problem with cardiovascular disease in well-trained individuals — it doesn't announce itself the way we expect it to. The markers we typically use to flag risk don't apply. No excess body weight, no poor lifestyle habits, no reason to think anything is wrong. What actually predicted Joel's risk was his family history. His mom had a stroke at 60. His dad and uncle died early. His brother had a triple bypass before 50. Every signal was there, just not one he could feel. If that kind of history exists in your family, get screened. The CT angiogram runs around $1,200 out of pocket — not cheap, and hopefully that comes down over time. But if you can justify it, it's worth it.

The fight between college sports private equity and use for private equity is going to be fascinating.
If as the North Carolina A.D. recently said all these sports that lose a ton of money for the university become club sports, non-scholarship, does the interest in some of the really competitive travel youth sports for sports that no longer offer college scholarships start to mirror the lack of reward at the end of the rainbow?

@chucktodd That change would make the House more—not less—partisan. Individual senators aren’t as captured by party leaders precisely because the body is much smaller. The bigger the chamber, the greater the pressure to streamline process, block amendments, and centralize decision-making.

There really is only one way to improve representation for all Americans in Congress: UNCAP THE HOUSE! It’s what the founders intended; they did NOT want to see Congressional Districts that were bigger than most major cities. Want to dilute the influence of courts and partisans, UNCAP THE HOUSE!

Some early thoughts on next year’s crop.
- Jeremiah Smith the clear No. 1 prospect on the board with a good amount of separation, a group of Simmons, Leonard Moore & Traore would be next up for me
- 9 OL selected on Day-1 this year, struggled to find four clear cut guys between OT/IOL - thought Knapp and Lambert from ND we’re very intriguing
- QB3 will be an ongoing conversation, Leavitt’s a wildcard for that spot
- Plenty of flavor & depth at WR - Nyck Harbor is going to be fun to see who bites on him earlier than people expect
- EDGE group is very talented and deep
- No real CB2 yet but big fan of Brice Pollock from TTU
- Was more impressed with Arch than I thought I’d be, the athlete/ playmaking ability lends more to a Josh Allen type than a pure pocket passer - arrow up but far from perfect

Passing versions of these bipartisan bills to (1) ban congressional stock trading (Stop Insider Trading Act; Restore Trust in Congress Act) and (2) rein in prediction markets (Public Integrity in Financial Prediction Markets Act; Event Contract Enforcement Act) would be great.
