Fr. Pagliarani specifically cites how in "ordinary" parishes, one typically finds poor/heretical preaching as well as unworthy administration of the sacraments. How, exactly, is he wrong here, given that it has been well documented that in the U.S. and Europe for the past 60 years, both have been found in abundance. He later, in the same interview, makes it clear he is not calling those who attend such Masses "not Catholics", nor does he deny there are rare locations where the NO is offered reverently and with good preaching. They also claim that 100% of the world's dioceses are also sede vacante. (A detail that never existed in previous sede vacantes.) They also claim that the Roman Apostolic See (Roman diocese) is currently occupied by zero clergy and zero laymen. (Another detail that never existed in previous sede vacantes.) They also claim that there are no formal Cardinals. (A third detail that never existed in previous sede vacantes.) Those claims are much more radical than “we've had sede vacante periods previously.” 2026 Sedevacantism is essentially the claim that the Roman See consists of a population of zero Catholics, and that there are no bishops on earth in communion with the Roman See/diocese, or even bishops possessing dioceses, for that matter. None of these conditions existed in previous sede vacante periods. This is why I am not sedevacantist. The current 2026 claim is that there are no jurisdictional dioceses on earth and that the Roman diocese/See ceased to formally exist, except as a titular or nominal concept. Is that reasonable?

scrupulosity sucks because I've gone through an entire examination of conscience and determined I have only venial sin, yet I still have the nagging "but what if" nonsense. the uncertainty is incredibly frustrating
