The radically free nature of Grace is scandalous. People hear how free it is and instinctively reach for their wallets. Folks want to pay because payment keeps them in control. But a gift payed for is hardly a gift. You cannot buy what is given, even with your obedience.

In situations where there is a joint account where you put like 80% of your income each for the home and keep 20% for yourselves, you can send extra money home from your 20%, which is yours to spend as you please. What you will not do is keep your entire salary to yourself and be paying bills in your father's house while abandoning your primary responsibility which is your immediate family.
