It’s a wrap! 2026 company incentive trip to Hawaii was amazing. Took 100 ppl w a min annual commission production of $600k. This year was a special one. Took 18 months and dozens of partners to purchase and merge the two largest and strongest brokerages into one! Now, the most dominant CRE brokerage ever assembled in the state of Utah and surrounding states. This run in front of us is going to be historic! I sat there on the final night watching two companies become one. Dancing, laughing, sharing together. The dream I, and so many others, had for decades a reality, and I was there witnessing it. Surreal, grateful, exited. Best culture, best ppl, best company….time to set a new bar.

After more than 22 years in this business, I’ve learned something simple: the best brokerage work happens when relationships come first. This move isn’t about chasing a bigger platform, better splits, or a flashier calling card. It’s about getting back to the way I believe brokerage should be done: nimble, strategic, entrepreneurial, and client-driven. That’s what brings me back together with Darren Sides. Darren and I started our careers together at Stan Johnson Company. From 2003 to 2009, we built something incredibly special as a team. It really was lightning in a bottle! The volume we did over that time was massive, but more importantly, the alignment was real. The Great Recession sent us down different paths. We each built, learned, and succeeded independently. Now, almost 17 years later, we’ve reunited with the same mindset, the same values, and the same approach to business and life. From the beginning of our conversations, one thing kept surfacing: we want this next chapter to be about serving God and serving others.  To our families, our team, and our clients. Different people need to be served in different ways, and an entrepreneurial platform gives us the freedom to do that with intention and integrity. I’m grateful for what we’ve each built on our own. But I’m far more energized about what we can build together. And most importantly, I can’t wait to do this alongside an old friend. If you want to connect, reach out!

I was getting annoyed at the number of wrong numbers when cold prospecting. I spent the past 6 months A/B testing if it’s worth spending extra time to do further research. If I spray and pray (don’t research) I can easily hit 100 calls in a day. If I research while I call, hitting 50 calls in one day is a stretch but I can do it. Breaking down the data over past 6 months: Spray and Pray: Calls: 4,192 Conversations: 306 (14 calls:1 convo) Leads: 41 (7 convos : 1 lead) Leads per day (assuming 100 calls): 3 Extra Research and Prep approach: Calls: 1,092 Conversations: 260 (4 calls: 1 convo) Leads: 25 (10 convos : 1 lead) Leads per day (assuming 50 calls): 1.25 Spray and pray it is!
