Last full day in Panama. Making our way back into the city after a few great days at the beach. Head home tomorrow with a 1h55m connection in MCO I’m nervous about. With no USCBP pre-clearance at PTY we will have to clear customs and re-clear security. 😬

It’s so true! I have a customer who’s renewal quote was $120,062.72 per year for ESXi and $3,880 per year for VME! Needless to say we have a new HPE GreenLake VME PCBE with Alletra MP system on order for them!

Thank heavens coming home from Mexico we were able to have Bloody Caesars on ⁦@AirCanada⁩ before things shut down due to turbulence the rest of the way to Toronto! Phew! @craigsearle1

The SuperElite concierge said that it was because of weather to the west plus March break causing the delays. The app is Flighty (worth every penny too as it’s subscription based, iOS only). I love the “friends” feature, because I added my wife (she doesn’t need a sub) and she now can see all my flights, and gets the same realtime push notifications of delays, etc as I do when I am traveling. And my key staff can also see them too. Important when half your time is in the air. I generally get alerts 3 to 5 minutes in it before the AC app, which gives me an advantage when there is a cancellation or something - I can beat the rest of the pax to the counter for rebooking. You should definitely check it out.

@DeanColpitts That’s brutal. Morning start up is key, delays taken with the first flight of the day tend to build and build. Not sure what the issue was yesterday weather was good! Saw your post…no spare fins in YYZ. Short airplanes, hence the delays. What app are those screen shots from?

Crew Sked strikes again. A brief moment of panic when I thought the trip was tonight, but upon closer look I’m off to BOG tomorrow night. Should be a fun trip, flew with the FO a bunch on the baby bus and the RP was my training partner on my A330 course. Then it’s vacation time!

Excellent work @AirCanada Proving once again that you don’t give a shit about Atlantic Canada destinations. You have spare aircraft based in YYZ, use them.

@kylgrn @flying_steve This week it’s probably half the moving walk-ways. I have the pleasure (not) of a 6hr layover there tomorrow. Hopefully someone in the AC domestic lounge used common sense and adjusted the thermostat.

And for the record I had 150 flights, 208k miles and $51k spend last year - all at Flex or higher. If you are only doing Basic fares, yeah you get nothing (which is what you are also paying). From what I can see, WJ can not currently offer the same level of benefits at their partner airlines as Star Alliance Gold can. And WJ basically bailed on Atlantic Canada last year, so they don’t work for me out of YQM.

I personally don’t see any issue with the new AC program. It is March 1 and I am well over halfway to SE for next year. I hit SE last year in mid-May and will probably do so again this year. Max out your credit card spend for 25K SQC, select SQC for your tier benefits, and you need less than $23k in total spend for the year for SE.

The best this that ever happened to @WestJet's loyalty program is @AirCanada's new @Aeroplan requirements to reach Gold, Elite or Super Elite status. Just spent the morning cancelling 20 AC flights and booking 20 WJ flights. Goodbye Air Canada.

@Bentheblacklab I never understood why they decided to go with two separate platforms (148/149). A common platform would be better but not necessarily from a fleet training/commonality perspective.

@DeanColpitts Hard no to 148s, but I like your vibe.

We should have an order in the queue for more 148, 149s, and Chinooks. And I don’t understand why they skipped new build Buffalos and Twin Otters for stationing in the north (I am sure de Havilland had offered new build Buffs). The Gripen should be a north stationed aircraft, with the 35 backing them up from the south. I would scale the 35 back to 64 air frames max.
