On State Street, that great street. The iconic Chicago sign serves as a reminder of what once was, and what will still come out of this iconic stretch of street. Once featured grandeur storefronts: In recent years faced the wrath of the pandemic & mass looting. That said, I see State Street as a resilient spirit that continues to evolve. It was rebuilt following the 1871 Fire, & w/ the right group of visionaries, will be revived once again into the toddlin’ stretch of street it once was.

@ColMoeDavis @chicagobars And it was kids playing tee ball!
English

Yes, but the t-ball team wasn’t for-profit and Bush didn’t have a financial stake in it.

In defense of UFC fights at White House, Justice Department argues in court filing that Pres. George W Bush also permitted youth tee-ball on White House grounds

@RezaC1 @EmmanuelMacron Hey Rena-we have not won all of our wars and apparently have picked the wrong side with Russia and Ukraine

@EmmanuelMacron Please fix your country. I want to go to Paris and not be stabbed.

Andre Holland has been arrested just once in his life, but it was a doozy: Shooting a CTA security guard at point-blank range at the 79th Street Red Line station.
Holland is now going to prison for 36 years.

@AnnCoulter @WalshFreedom You support him and you are just now realizing this?

Of all the selfish, narcissistic things Trump has done, attending MSG to see the Knicks play in person Monday night is the absolute worst. 20,000 attendees will be MASSIVELY inconvenienced for all the extra security, the Knicks Watch Party at Garden Is canceled, thousands of extra law enforcement officers will be required (paid for by taxpayers), traffic will be a disaster -- all so he can sit in the Garden rather than watch the game on TV.
Presidents ought to be willing to sacrifice once in awhile.

@JesseRogersESPN @CubsZone I don’t like booing but Brennan has been bad.

@susanamendoza10 @CWBChicago Every ride-a homeless person. Garbage all around and bad smells.
English

It is simply unacceptable for public trains to serve as homeless shelters. Individuals experiencing homelessness deserve real resources and comprehensive assistance, including substance abuse and mental health services, to truly guide them toward recovery.
Chicago spends at least $69 million on homelessness initiatives, yet this is the best we have to show for it? We must demand accountability. These programs need to deliver real results for the taxpayers footing the bill and, most importantly, for the people who desperately need the help.

Taking the Blue Line home after a red eye from ORD and every car is full of people dealing with housing insecurity. This is not how you deal with homelessness. This is not the role of public transit. This is not how you introduce tourists to your city. @ChicagosMayor

@royalpratt Actually, I would never go to a place advertising as most affordable

Dr. Ayoub Sayeg’s ads have an appealing ring to budget-minded consumers: “Most Affordable Plastic Surgery Center in Chicago. Period.”
But a Tribune investigation has found eight of Sayeg’s patients died in a seven-year span shortly after their surgeries. chicagotribune.com/2026/06/07/pla…

@visegrad24 @nazirafzal I don’t think Pakistan enslaved people from another continent

@nazirafzal Do you also complain about the lack of diversity in Pakistan, or is it just in Western countries you find it offensive?

@CWBChicago Convince the ICE protesters to go after these guys. Their time could be more usefully spent running off criminals. Or maybe they only do that with people who won’t retaliate.

Armed robbers struck at least twice early this morning in Streeterville and River North — the same areas where a holdup and kidnapping crew has been prowling since early April.

During his speech at a ceremony marking the 82nd anniversary of the D-Day invasion, U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth compared the D-Day invasion with illegal immigration, stating, "Sadly, today, different European beaches are stormed by different dangerous ideologies...When will European capitals do something about that invasion?"
