I wish chicken breast tasted better. I have no idea how you're all cooking it without it getting dry or chewy. Tips? I tend to skip it and cook thighs instead, but I need to up my protein.

Just had my shingles vaccination, had to pay as not eligible on the NHS. Told the vaccinator I was doing it to reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease and she said her last customer was a neuroscientist there for the same reason. 💉

Which one would you choose to live in? Each style has its own visual language: symmetry, ornament, structure, materials, or simplicity. From Tudor timber frames to Bauhaus geometry, European house styles show how architecture can reflect climate, craft, history, and changing ideas of home.

These are the toilets in Harold’s Cross Educate Together Secondary School. Fully open to the corridor and with male and female symbols on every single door. The school has, helpfully, laminate a couple of pieces of paper with arrows written on them saying ‘Male’ and ‘Female’. The only sinks are in the middle of the floor with no wall between them. I suppose the laminated signs are the school’s attempt at a compromise as there was uproar from the students a couple of months ago when plans revealed that every single toilet block and cubicle is mixed sex. Only people who are completely oblivious to the needs and desires of teenage girls especially, for privacy and dignity would make teenage girls share toilet facilities with teenage boys like this. It’s either ignorance or something more sinister - a complete disregard for the rights of half of the population. Educate Together my arse. What about girls and boys from countries, cultures and religious backgrounds for whom these shared facilities will be entirely unacceptable? They will self-exclude from schools like this. Everywhere where mixed sex facilities have been imposed on teenagers like this, girls have ended up physically ill because they will stop drinking water during the day because they won’t use these facilities. @hcetss @Education_Ire @1Hildegarde Why have exclusionary toilet facilities been adopted in this publicly funded school?

@SimonHoiberg You are a guest in this country - essentially inviting people to somebody else’s home. I feel very privileged to live here but yelling for the world and his uncle to rock up so you can get clicks is just going to further inflame the current migration debate before the vote.

@DeeNoonan @that_1 I typically shower with my bonnet on unless it’s a wash day. I don’t take my bonnet off until right before leaving the house most of the time.

@Kristinartz No, that is not fair on the business - if they do - then they should pay the equivalent price of a main dish on the adult menu

Have you been to Europe recently? A word about bottle caps. They don’t completely detach. It’s an environmental measure. Also I assume toddlers are less likely to swallow one. I will admit it took me a year to get used to it but now I am and it’s fine.

@WrathandRemedy Sad but unsurprising - also cleaning & laundry products stink - I sneeze down that aisle so buy fragrance-free everything - similarly hate perfume departments - maybe best back to pure lavender, rose, orange in oil and buy cheaper no-fragrance pharmacy brands - La Roche/Avene

🚨 SHOCKING 🚨 A recent study took healthy women with 0 history of breast cancer. Then, they removed ONE single thing from their routine. After only 28 days? A cancer-related gene in their normal breast tissue was GONE. Here’s what they removed from the routine: 🧵

@DominiqueCAPaul Swiss tax is v. specific - depends on canton, commune, even religion… income tax can be very high but people are extremely well versed on deductibles & optimisation - here in Geneva we have high income tax and 1% global wealth tax but zero capital gains or inheritance tax

Man, Swiss taxes are insane. I was playing with numbers, thinking how much to pay founding engineers and wondered about net income. CHF 100k (~127k USD) translates into just CHF 12k taxes. Not only that, but the government has a special website for citizens to calculate this.

@olgakhazan Those little cribs that attach to side of the bed were a life saver for me - baby is safe from roll over risk and you avoid the extra exhaustion that comes from physically getting out of the bed when you are already exhausted

@FT Based on my experience this is the case- there were lines of tweens when Sephora opened last month. The positioning, the imagery, the samples - it’s catnip for 12 year olds … tbf. LVMH are doing the same with Dior lip gloss - 90% packaging for a mini stick of Vaseline
