2) "Indian Subcontinent" is also fine but fyi India =/= Hinduism.

'South Asia' is a modern term widely used today, often to frame ancient Hindu cultural heritage as Pakistani or Bangladeshi.
I prefer using 'the Indian subcontinent,' which sounds more India- and Hindu-centric.
