Look, I’m not a die hard Toronto fan. I do think the city is unique and special. I see all the negativity about Toronto Tech Week though. It makes no sense. It’s okay to enjoy life, life is beautiful. It’s okay to have positive vibes, you don’t have to just be repressed. I personally hate events but this is special to me because we see all the excellence around you. If you miss it, it genuinely is a skill issue. Nothing is ever perfect. By that same logic some of ya’ll should delete Twitter before you get your bread up. Lastly, on @skanwar. Man, you guys don’t know how much he does for the love of the game. The guy is a certified G but he’s up at 6am personally running around just to pay it forward. There is excellence everywhere for those with eyes to see. Here’s a good heuristic. Next time before you complain, ask yourself are you part of the solution. If not then whatever you have to say is kind of irrelevant. Thank you for all that you do @skanwar. Let me speak at TTW next year 🤐

@lacaseyl created a backlog. As your claim is already on file, no further action is required at this time. The Baggage team will reach out to you directly as soon as they are able to review and process your case. We appreciate your continued patience. Air Canada Social Media /Nils 2/2

If you split an Airbnb 5 ways and one person bails last minute (sick, personal reasons, etc.), should they get a refund, or is it a sunk cost?

Air Canada @AirCanada marked my major baggage damage claim as resolved, yet no compensation, explanation, or decision has been provided after more than a month. How is this considered resolved?

If you’re a 7-figure founder, grab a pen & paper and answer these 3 questions in order: - What problem do I understand deeply? - Who can I serve better than anyone? - How do I deliver it in a way nobody else can? Get them right, and you’ll never worry about competitors again

@HardipGoDevils @haulyuhass__ How long once you filed? I've been waiting 11 days now for pretty much the same delayed bag claim amount and the same amount of hours delayed...

@haulyuhass__ I got my back like 10-12 hours late, and got $800 Canadian for that from AC, a nice little e-transfer very quickly after. Only thing they’ve ever been good for

Did you know? Nandos went from 1 outlet in South Africa in 1987, & today there are 1250 Nandos outlets in 30 countries. The collective revenue of those outlets is R30 billion per year.🤯 The two South Africans who own the franchise are indeed global champions 👌🏽💫🇿🇦

I wrote a new book. Unhinged Habits is out today. It’s the culmination of 13 years of exploration and life design experiments. It is a mix between Essentialism, Vagabonding, and Atomic Habits with more focus on the deeper values of health, exploration, and community.

As an example, I have 119k followers. There was a time when this would've been an incredibly valuable metric. Meant that whenever I posted, each of those 119k people would always see me pop up on their feed The feed itself was the group chat, the newsletter, the community. My tweets were for the homies and only the homies, which allowed me to post however I wanted knowing that the same people were going to be seeing it every day But with the algo change, most of those followers don't even see my tweets anymore, in addition to me no longer recognizing the majority of people who engage with my tweets So I thought, "Ok I can't just tweet however I want anymore. If I want views, I need to optimize my topics, experiment with headings, mess around with spacing, etc." Tried that for a few months and legit felt disgusted with myself What's the point of trying to increase your engagement if most of the people you're putting your tweets in front of have no idea who you are. How lonely of an online existence. This is why scrolling makes so many people depressed now, you're exposed to random people every day but you never truly get to know anyone 100k likes, 1m views, but 99% of those people couldn't recognize your username vs 60 likes, 6k views, but most of those people know about that trip you went on in 2024, that L you took in 2025, etc. and frequently click on your profile to read you. Doesn't take an genius to tell which one will probably be more valuable as AI continues to proliferate Anyways, all to say that if you want to "succeed" on social media (and in life in general), you gotta just lean into your true personality and not be afraid to lead with it. Forget the likes, views, whatever. The ego might need time to get used to it, but the soul will reward you tenfold. Be real, be a homie, be yourself
du@thedulab

I'm pretty certain that the era of giving advice is over, and this is coming from someone who blew up on Twitter through giving advice Not that it isn't valuable, it's just not that interesting anymore. Only so many lessons you can drop before you realize you're basically repeating the same handful of principles week after week This is also why bots flock to this type of content. Their AI generated replies are always a lazy remix of whatever you posted, but the fact that the content could even ben remixed in general is a sign that information is no longer an edge anymore The name of the game now is simply lore. More posts that start with "I" instead "you." Less preaching, more sharing spontaneous life experiences. If you're going to drop some sort of lesson, less "do this" energy and more "interpret this anecdote how you will and pull out whatever insights you want from it" No more seeing yourself as a "content creator" and instead just talk to the timeline as if you were hanging out with a friend face to face in real life. Show the personality, be yourself, no agenda other than having fun with it. Allow people to benefit from the energy surrounding how you show up rather than through prescriptive commands
