In reality, no one in the world has done more than Donald Trump to pull Putin back from the brink of total failure and to encourage and empower him to never stop under any circumstances but to pursue his most maximalist goals against Ukraine. And then to move further against Europe, because he sees that the former leader of the free world is ready to hand him everything on a silver platter for a pat on the shoulder as “one of us.”

Elon, Andreesen, Sacks, Ackman, Chamath, Vivek, on and on, I remember when for all these guys it was critical to elect Trump because our national debt was a crisis and existential threat to the future of America only he would tackle. Don’t hear so much about that anymore.

This is misleading. Other than Patriots (of which we have only provided 3 systems, I believe) the weapons and munitions used against Iran are not what we were giving to Ukraine. If U.S. stockpiles are running low for Iran operations Ukraine is *not* the reason.

Trump is, again, lying about shortages of ammunition for the war against Iran due to some imaginary supplies to Ukraine. Here are some facts: The kinds of weapons we are using to strike Iran were NEVER sent to Ukraine: PrSM (entered service in 2024), LUCAS drones (brand new), Tomahawks (Trump talked about sending some, never did), and of course B-2 Spirit stealth bombers, F-22 Raptors, and F-35s -- obviously none were ever transferred to Ukraine. The only weapons one might plausibly refer to would be ATACMS: the entire stock we deigned to send Ukraine was about 50 rounds (we had used 800 in the opening days of the Iraq invasion). The US used over 20 weapons systems to hit over 1,000 targets simultaneously during the opening hours of Operation Epic Fury. An estimated 300 Tomahawks were used and the Pentagon ordered... 57 new ones in the current fiscal year. There have been no deliveries of THAAD interceptors since 2023 and no new orders were placed this year. The military will get 39 in 2027, six years after ordering them. If we are running short on ammunition, it's because the people ordering this war did not plan adequately for contingencies and spent like drunken sailors, not because of our (really nonexistent for the past year) aid to Ukraine. Our big problem is that right now, we are still using extremely expensive systems like Patriots ($3-4 million per missile) and NASAMS/AMRAAM interceptors ($0.8-1.2 million per missile) to combat mass-produced $20,000 Shahed drones. This asymmetric exchange ratio between offense and defense is what kept analysts at night during the Cold War and why eventually defense systems would be scrapped for being too easily overwhelmed by numbers despite being technologically superior. Ukraine has been fighting and innovating precisely to deal with the asymmetric offense capabilities of Russia for years, and they have learned how to do it. But when they offered to help us last year, the Trump administration arrogantly brushed them aside. Now we are squandering premier weapons designed to stop ballistic missiles on cheap drones. And we can't keep doing it no matter how wealthy we are. Missiles take months, sometimes years, to make, while drones can be mass produced in weeks. You lose wars not when the offense peaks --- as the current bombing afficionados at the White House have you believe with their nonstop meming about raining destruction on Iran -- but when your defense capacity is stretched to its limits and cannot cope with things that keep coming at it.

Trump is so disinhibited and disconnected from reality that he's openly talking about going nuclear in Iran. I'd imagine he has one adviser telling him that using nukes would make him history's most important president and own the woke left, and another reminding him nuclear war would be bad for his golf courses and hotels. Which one he listens to might decide the fate of the world.

The Pentagon blackballed its own newspaper from covering its own press conference? Reminder, Stars & Stripes employees are US Army civilians. Their editorial independence is protected by Congress specifically to prevent political leaders from feeding troops propaganda.
Matthew Adams@MatthewAdams60

Stars and Stripes was not approved by the Pentagon to attend this press conference. I will be be watching it on a screen instead. Seems a bit odd since the Pentagon published a memo with changes to the newspaper, including content overhaul. NEW: President Trump makes four false claims in a 43-word post about Tina Peters. Peters is 70 (not 73), does not have cancer, was sentenced by a judge in Mesa County (not the Governor), and did not expose fraud in the 2020 presidential election.

The US delegation is now meeting with the dictator of Belarus, a country with a GDP smaller than the US state of Vermont. Putin needs the US to take sanctions off Belarus to use it as a conduit for western technology for the Russian war machine. The US gains absolutely nothing, but surely the Trump family will make billions from the coming arrangement.

russian “human safari” in Kherson. On March 16, 2026, a russian FPV drone deliberately targeted a civilian car. Again. In the passenger seat was 38-year-old Olha Kondretska. She never stood a chance. Her injuries were fatal. russians are murderers. Period.

In all the tragedy happening in the world, there are moments that make me genuinely happy. An Irish PM defending the British PM from attacks by the US President, and then turning to show solidarity with Ukraine. This is European solidarity at its finest. Honor to the Irish 🇮🇪.
Aaron Rupar@atrupar

After Trump disses Starmer, Irish leader Micheál Martin jumps in to defend Starmer and encourages Trump to get along with him. Martin then pivots to defending Ukraine -- a country Trump also dissed earlier in the event.

When a drunk general leaves classified documents on a Polish train for 24 hours, gets so wasted he concusses himself, and still gets a pass because he “owned up to it,” it doesn’t even crack the news cycle… you’re not looking at a functioning system—you’re watching a flood of nonstop bullshit where even serious failures get buried. And the worst part? There’s always something even more insane right behind it, fighting for attention. Army general left classified maps on train, concussed after ‘overindulgence’ in alcohol: Inspector general report thehill.com/homenews/57869…

First, we are capable of producing at least 2,000 effective and combat-proven interceptors every day. We can produce more – it depends on investment. We need about 1,000 interceptors a day, and we can supply at least another 1,000 a day to our allies. Second, we know how to build radar and acoustic coverage to respond to how “shaheds” and other drones approach. Third, we have software that allows radars to keep working even under electronic warfare jamming. In real time, we analyze enemy frequencies and respond to them. And because of this system, we understand how effective our defense is against almost every attack drone, and we can move our positions and air defense to get better results. This iPad gives full control of the situation because we have a system for using our defense tools. If a “shahed” needs to be stopped in the Emirates – we can do it. If it needs to be stopped in Europe or the United Kingdom – we can do it. It is a matter of technology, investment, and cooperation. And the fact that we got through this winter – which Russia tried to make deadly for all our families – shows that our solutions work. From my address to the Parliament of the United Kingdom (4/7)
