Many are jumping to the conclusion that @Nigel_Farage is about to announce that he’s walking away from politics. Again. After all, he has looked & sounded frustrated & angry and has quit the leadership of both UKIP & the Brexit Party before. Do not rule out the possibility, however, that he resigns as an MP to trigger a by election in which he runs as the candidate the establishment is trying to stop. One to watch …

A Land Value Tax could be massive.
Scrap Council Tax. Scrap Business Rates.
Replace them with a tax on the land value underneath homes, businesses and farmland - not the buildings people improve.
UK land is worth roughly £7 trillion.
At:
0.5% = ~£35bn a year
1% = ~£70bn a year
1.5% = ~£105bn a year
2% = ~£140bn a year
Council Tax and Business Rates together raise roughly £70bn, so a 1% LVT could replace both. A higher rate could raise tens of billions more to cut the deficit or reduce tax on work.
Tax idle land. Reward investment.
