This is not the first time Strava has been at the center of such OpSec lapses. More importantly, this is not the first time that the French Navy and other Western militaries have suffered OpSec lapses due to Strava. Not an argument against Strava, but instead an argument for greater accountability throughout Western militaries as it relates to the digital footprints of deployed forces.

According to the French newspaper Le Monde, the near-exact location of the French aircraft carrier FS Charles de Gaulle (R91) was publicly exposed on March 13, when a naval officer utilized the online physical exercise tracker Strava to log his run on the deck of the carrier while it sailed through the Eastern Mediterranean to the west of Cyprus.

Greek Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendias announced today that a Greek Patriot air defense battery in Saudi Arabia shot down two Iranian ballistic missiles that were targeting oil refineries in the country. Greece has had a presence in the Gulf nation since 2021 as a part of a bilateral defense pact, the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA), between Saudi Arabia and Greece. According to a Reuters, citing a Greek MOND official, this is the first time that Greek military personnel have operated the system.

Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud has made a number of comments on Iran’s attacks across the Gulf region. Two statements of note were his comments saying that “Saudi Arabia reserves the right to take military action against Iran,” and that Saudi Arabia’s patience, as it relates to ongoing Iranian strikes against the Gulf nation, is not “limitless.” This comes amidst reports that, behind the scenes, Saudi Arabia has been more hawkish on strikes on Iran while simultaneously urging deescalation in the public information space.

Following reports of at least two drone impacts at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq, smoke can be seen rising from the embassy campus. Additional reports also indicate that the drones impacted despite the emplaced counter rocket, artillery, and mortar (C-RAM) system’s active efforts. At the time of writing, it seems that the attack may have been more substantial than past strikes on the embassy since the start of the conflict.

IMPORTANT CONTEXT: Before this article sparks sensationalism, recognize this activity is only considered "large-scale" in relation to the slower activity over the last three weeks. In fact, yesterday's reported ADIZ numbers were only the 8th most significant in 2026 alone.
