HBO announced in February that Craig Mazin will showrun a Baldur's Gate 3 television series — a direct continuation of the game's story. Larian Studios, the developer behind Baldur's Gate 3, confirmed it has no involvement in the series. Publishing director Michael Douse said he hoped "the original writers and creators would receive proper credit and that the characters would be represented at the same level as the game."
