The last actual draft was 1972. In 1973 they did away with it as Vietnam was winding down. Since 1938 there has been the selective service requirement for all males ages 18 - 25 who are United States citizens and males 18 - 25 who are not but live in the United States. Selective service was not required in 1975 by executive order at the close of the Vietnam war. Ironically it was reinstated in 1980 after the Iranian hostage situation. So after 47 years of being the world’s terrorist and our biggest thorn, if it comes to full out war with a draft and boots on the ground it would be worth it. We have a ton of salt pools in Arizona due to the high heat but copper does sound like a better option long term.

My wife and I are working on making our own copper ionizer for our pool. We hardly use chlorine as it is but zero chlorine is definitely better.
