X Money is not fake, BUT ... It’s a high risk "Beta" experiment. Here is why "Trust me bro" energy is a red flag. The 6% Interest, traditional banks offer much less, X is likely using this high APY. The $250k Insurance, because X isn't the bank. X have partnered with "Cross River Bank", which is an FDIC insured institution. Why it still feels like a "Trust Me, Bro" scam to me... The information gap where is the "Truth in Savings" disclosure? We’re dealing with credit and livelihoods "we'll tell you later" doesn't work with money. Identity problem of X is a social media platform first. If your account gets nuked for a TOS violation, do you lose the ability to pay for groceries? Does your billing history vanish with your handle? Regulatory holes "X Payments LLC" has licenses in 40+ states, but missing heavyweights like NY/CA means it’s not an "Everything App" yet. The questions no one is answering is that 6% capped? What are the strings? ($2,000/month direct deposit or 10 monthly swipes?) If your account is flagged, do you lose access to your liquidity? When a transaction fails, are you talking to a licensed teller or a "Grok" chatbot? Until the banking side is decoupled from the "Post" button, the platform risk is too high.
