@RealDanYohannes Definitely straight red. Was high, nowhere near the ball, and at 0:38 you can see how she actually moved her leg to the side to be sure she got leg, rather than in front of her to maybe block the ball. Looks about as intentional as one of these can look.

@DirteeeMartini The most charitable reasoning I can give is that the difference in *term length* (usually 2 for state reps, or even 1, vs 4-6 for state senators) serves the same purpose as the term differences for US House / Senate: to cool public passions-du-jour and force longer-term thinking.

@DirteeeMartini It’s the fault of the liberal majority of the Supreme Court in the 1960s, that destroyed the logic of State Senates in Reynolds v. Sims.

@ArkaimiaTV The mystery player is Queta, sitting on the bench because he has too many fouls. He had gotten SO MUCH better about fouling over the course of the season, relative to last year. It's just weird to see the regression, and it's coming out as frustration wrongly directed.

people hating on Vucevic seem to have this idea that we have an actual good center to play in the postseason who is not actively hurting us on one end of the floor. im wondering where this mystery player is

@LevAkabas @bballbreakdown Did you see the "feet get tangled up" part live? If not, don't you think that changes things? Stepping on the foot / tripping the ballhandler is an automatic foul, like there's no gray area on enforcement. That happened before any push-off you might want to argue.

@bballbreakdown I appreciate the education work you do on here, but we're not looking for a technical rulebook justification on this one We're saying that this play doesn't look or feel like a defensive foul, and if it's being called as such, then the rules need to be changed or reinterpreted

This "legal guarding position" nonsense needs to end This was an offensive foul (or a no call) for the first 70 years of the NBA An offensive player can now plow into a defender's stomach simply because he's not standing 100% perfectly still?

The Boston Celtics' opponents this season only took 20.8% of their shot attempts at the rim That's the lowest rate for any NBA defense in the 21st Century

@Mylovanov Ferguson sucks, but he's right for the right reasons here, and I wish he would keep making this case to, well, The Right. There are lots of things that (nearly-) all parts of the US political spectrum should be able to agree on being Good or Bad, and this is one.

Historian Niall Ferguson: Magyar’s victory over Orbán is good not because the left defeated the right. What happened is that a non-corrupt populist who is not a lackey of Putin and Xi defeated one who became both corrupt and a lackey of our adversaries. 1/

@NoaDalzell The real issue is that it's Brad who gets the plaudits, while Zarren and others deserve at least as much. Joe was right that the COTY award should honor a whole staff, and imo an Exec OTY award should honor the whole FO. Only on the court can we really separate out individuals.

The Celtics survived Jayson Tatum’s Achilles injury and still won 56 games. They saw big-time contributions from a bunch of former second-round picks (Neemias Queta, Luka Garza, Jordan Walsh) and undrafted players (Sam Hauser, Ron Harper Jr). They have the best contract in the NBA in Payton Pritchard AND they somehow got under the luxury tax at the deadline. Everyone I’ve talked to around the league this year has pretty much said that this is the best front office in the NBA

@yral_k @Cyrain Yep, a hit in the sternum or the gut accomplishes the same thing with <1% of the risk of killing him or turning him into a vegetable that this headshot did.

@Cyrain It was all justified, only the thing that should keep someone from doing this is the hit could have ended badly for the other guy. This would have resulted in murder charges and multiple years in prison!

@Jared5086561917 @Insanevidz_ The punch itself (given his evident training) is 100x likelier to kill than hitting his head on a wood floor. That had to be at least 500 lbs of punch... had momentum, good hip action, and a guy not just unprepared but unaware it was coming. A slap, or almost *anything* else.

@Insanevidz_ A hard slap would have been more appropriate. Low risk of the dumb ass dying from hitting his head on the ground and sends the message very clearly.

@DLN7527 @Insanevidz_ this is the right take. Responding with violence here is ok, but if you're built and trained well enough that you can deliver a punch with THAT force, make it a knee to the gut, a takedown and a few kicks to the ribs. You're not exaggerating: That punch literally could've killed.

@JeremyFilosa @Fullboat101 @CFellinator @JeffFletcherOCR after the runner from *first* made it home? Dude you're losing the plot here. Assuming you mean "third": If the scorekeeper judges the fielder had no play at 1st, taking the tag or the force play at home is still a force out, not a hit. See here: x.com/JeffFletcherOC…
Jeff Fletcher@JeffFletcherOCR

@Monkgi_ Well, I'm right that it's not a hit. But it's also not a fielders choice, so I'm also wrong. It's just a "force out." We all learned something. It happens a lot at second, but here's a particularly crazy example that was at home, so kind of what you guys have suggested.

@Denzera @Fullboat101 @CFellinator @JeffFletcherOCR If the fielder goes to the runner and tags him after the runner from first made it home, if the scorekeeper judges the fielder had no play at first and prefered to chase the runner from third base down and tags him out, it would ne a hit, plus a put out on the basepath.

@DraftDeeper People took offense when they compared Caitlin Clark to Payton Pritchard, because she's all-league and he's generally not a starter, but (A) it's a big compliment! and, (B) stylistically it's a pretty solid comp.

Payton Pritchard might not seem like a lofty bar for a player to aspire to from an upside perspective, but he really is when you unpack how unique he is. He’s arguably the league’s best athlete at his size pound-for-pound, has unbelievable craft as a player in terms of types of dribbles, start/stop, and command, he’s an all-world shooter, and he has a winning pedigree dating back to high school. He’s definitely in the territory of I can’t really use him as a good comp moving forward because of how special he is as a scoring guard.

@dumbbit08710492 @HPluckrose yeah, so don't date those. From the sound of it, I don't think OP's relationships involved a condescension of that sort. I'm sure she felt the age gap in different ways, but she articulated why it fit what she was looking for. If they belittled her, I bet she'd have dumped them.

I think people can mind their own business about this. Between 20 & 23, I dated a 34-year-old & a 36-year-old man. Men my own age seemed very immature & not particularly interesting to me. I did not enjoy their company. Also their experience in sex was....lacking. 1/

@SirStravaganza @chuchuganov @Ander_Bruckes AI on the image tells me the rightmost guy is Davyd Arakhamia, Leader of the "Servant of the People" parliamentary faction and still serving as such. I think in the famous video that the image is from, Zelensky names a bunch of people who are "still here", not just these.
