This is a president who is simultaneously managing the most dangerous military escalation since the Cold War, a debt crisis, an energy crisis, a nuclear proximity incident at Dimona, and a war whose stated primary objective remains unachieved after 22 days, choosing to spend his public attention on ethnic targeting of a specific immigrant community by national origin at American airports. The operational question nobody is asking is straightforward. ICE agents are trained in immigration enforcement, deportation logistics, and detention operations. They are not trained in explosives detection, threat assessment profiling, passenger screening, or the specific security protocols that make aviation safe. Replacing TSA with ICE at airports does not produce better security. It produces a different kind of enforcement activity at airports, one focused on immigration status rather than aviation threats.
