The sales tax in Minneapolis and Minnesota is 6.87% but if you buy food or alcohol at bars and restaurants downtown it's over 9% due to a special tax. It pays to not eat or drink downtown if you have a choice.

Typos exist, I guess grammar police do too, uber exists too, minneapolis deserves a lot of bashing because the council is full of weird communists, but it’s still worth visiting from time to time, especially Murray’s / Bar La Grasa / Kado No Mise, Demi, and the plethora of superior food places downtown. I get it, you don’t want to go, but the nominal price difference as a deterrent to visit for quality experiences is a little silly - again, Minneapolis has plenty of goofball reasons to make fun of it, but there isn’t a place out the city that compares to the food quality in the city, if there is, be our guest and recommend
