As a member of the @maricopacounty Board of Supervisors for the past 8 years, I took a special interest in who would follow me as the representative of District 3 on the Board. When @DanielVPhx & @KateMcGeeAZ were nominated by their parties, I knew that District 3 would be in good hands. I salute Daniel Valenzuela for his servant's heart and the strong campaign he ran. I congratulate Kate Brophy McGee on her hard fought victory. I know that she will be a fantastic member of the Board and I wish her and the rest of the Board the very best.

There will never be another like Pete Rose! He battled his entire life, making it to the Big Leagues on determination and grit. He wanted to win every game and get 3 , no make that 4…no, 5 hits everyday. He won batting title because he had the desire and the goal. He wanted Ty Cobb’s record. Will we ever see this again? 13 seasons of 190+ hits. 3,562 games played. 5,929 times on base. Rookie of the Year, All Star, Gold Glover, Silver Slugger, MVP and World Series Champion. A local kid from Cincinnati who became a King. We were teammates, business partners and more importantly, in spite of what everyone thought, we were friends. I will miss him dearly.

Today Chief Brian Tobin @BrianTobinphx received the Bob Weber Firefighter Lifetime Achievement Award. @DaisyMtnFire @PHXFire @Local493 Presented by Az Fire Chiefs and District Chiefs. Clearly I’m very proud of him. He said “truth is my greatest life achievements are my two kids…” Thats why he received the award, he never forgets his family, many of his brothers were there with him. It’s an extended family of course.
