It’s called house style. While this particular usage may annoy you, consistently presenting names a certain way is a mark of professionalism and a bulwark against the anarchy of hundreds of NYT writers all doing their own thing. It doesn’t work if you randomly exempt some people

You should be able to look up a lawyer's LSAT score, what their actual bar exam score was, and if they required any special accommodations for both. And if they don't like it? Don't become a lawyer. They have the fate of people's lives and/or property in their hands.

Is it securities fraud if your IPO prospectus fails to disclose that your CEO is Satoshi if the New York Times never runs the story, putting it in the marketplace?
Is there any disclosure BSTR can make to avoid securities fraud (“The NY Times reports X.”) without admitting Back is Satoshi?
Even if Back isn’t Satoshi, wouldn’t a colorable securities lawsuit be possible just to get him under oath on the theory that a jury could be persuaded that he is and BSTR failed to disclose this material fact?

But the majority of my students are interested in public interest law (though financial reality + Biglaw bucks often change that, sadly).

Fake news is bad enough for the country, but pushing out a hoax headline in such a sensitive national security moment as this requires accountability.
Iran put out an official statement that simply cannot be squared with the one CNN's false headline attributes to them.
Time for change at CNN.

@stephen_richer @DeshadaRenada But Yale also self-selects for people who aspire to such positions rather than traditional law practice, so it doesn’t necessarily make them “the best” school, just different. When recruiting for elite law firms & govt positions, my peers and I were wary of Yale grads.
