@Gamesager @karoroyy Slide hopping and bunny hoping uses mechanics that already exist like sword boosts in Destiny and micro missile jumps. IN MARATHON it bypasses a mechanic of the game which whole goal is to slow players and make them more strategic. Unless playing the game as intended is bad?

@karoroyy slide hopping and bunny hopping were technically exploits in titanfall and they made the game infinitely better. Unintended movement mechanics actually add depth to games without the entire game becoming crazy since most normal players never do it or see it.

When movement tech is something that isn’t part of the base game, it’s something not everyone is doing so casuals don’t complain about movement, taking it out just ruins a portion of the game at the top level without actually helping people who don’t do it since they never see it

Alright everyone we're going a bit rogue here. We have a bit of an experimental feature that's in development we want to test and we'd love for you to help. As of Wednesday morning 3/18 at 10am PT, we'll be enabling a limited time duos queue on Perimeter only to test how the game plays with crews of 2 at a wider scale. Important things to note: -- It will be on Perimeter only for now. -- The test will last about 2 weeks (but we might cut it off early or elongate it depending on what's going on). -- You can only enter duos with a premade group of you and another friend. (no matchmaking solo into duos). -- You will be matched with other duos only. -- You can select "Perimeter - Duo" from the zone select screen to access it. (not the final intended ux flow right now) -- Some things will be a bit jank. Just a note: this is a bit of an experimental feature so we expect to learn some things along the way and make changes to future versions of this. This likely won't be the final implementation of how it would look and flow in the game, but for now it was easiest way for us to get it to you all to help us test. We're excited to run this experiment with you all. Pending what we learn, we're hoping to expand duos as a queue in the future and we wanted to take this first step sooner than later so we could understand how it affects our game better before investing a lot more time in fleshing out the feature. Additionally, this is unlikely to be the last experiment we run, so look forward to more as we continue to evolve Marathon. FOR SCIENCE!

@MarathonDevTeam I have only received 1 twitch drop in game. All others have not shown up at all. I would like my worm items. If I need to wait a little longer so be it but I'm missing all the kitty items (except emblem) including kit. All the worm items and kit.

First impressions of #Marathon: - Navigating the menus is utterly insane. Pop-ups all over the place, buttons everywhere, hidden submenus, cut scenes that interrupt what you're doing... messy - Art style is just not to my taste. Feels very cold, sterile and unwelcoming. 17 different fonts & typefaces feels scuffed and unpolished. I know its intentional to look the way it does but I don't like it - PvP is really fun and it's the highlight of the entire game. Still getting to grips with the different character abilities but the actual gunfights are really good - PvE/lore/worldbuilding is very Bungie. There's a lot of working your way through menus, reading different labels and listening to characters talk at you. But then in-game, all of that is lost and you're just... there... on a map. The missions in-game feel very disconnected from the lore in the menus - AI enemies feel very one-dimensional. I think I've been spoiled by ARC Raiders and how different & varied their AI enemies are. They all have unique characteristics and must be dealt with in specific ways. Marathon employs a "one size fits all" approach with increasing levels of health. By comparison, ARC is leagues ahead - I spent a lot of time just wandering around the maps not really doing anything...? Unless I stumbled on PvP, I didn't really feel much sense of urgency. Also, the game doesn't help to increase tension by signposting how much time you have left. ARC/DMZ did this really well with voiceover announcements, countdown reminders etc. I played 4hrs total and by the end I finally felt like I was starting to understand what I was doing in the menus. My goodness, that's going to be a massive barrier to entry for most players! PvP is the saving grace of this game, but it doesn't happen very often. I'll play some more tomorrow and see if I get an itch to come back.

@CoolRunnersClub I think the older players would still play, cause the sandbox gameplay itself would still be familiar, and I think everyone could a refresh from the director/portal. Plus, having new systems means old players still get to learn new things and new players dont feel left behind.

@CoolRunnersClub A D3 in my opinion ONLY appeals to the die hard addicted fans that can't play any other game. That is why Halo has had so many issues. Most of the community is old, opinionated, and want the thrill of when they first played. And they are just as toxic as the D2 community.

Háblanos como jugadores que llevamos todos los años jugando cada Dlc y temporada y decepción y no como un números más. Lo que está llegando está muy bien, pero llegará demasiado tarde, y es una actualización de mitad de temporada, no un DLC. Yo ya vi esto venir y lo comenté, y fíjate que todo se está cumpliendo. Este texto tal como está redactado alimenta más el ruido de abandono que hay en la comunidad porque falta info sobre el roadmap y el futuro del juego.
