I got to meet OB1 last week for the first time. We rode to West Nile for the weekend with my comrades from @BikersUganda. Such an amazing soul. We laughed all weekend not knowing that was the first and last time we would be together. OB1 passed on yesterday after hitting a pothole in Kampala. For a man who rode allover East Africa with great precision to pass on like this is very unfortunate and sad. I will miss the adventurous comrade I was looking forward to ride with. Ride with the Angels Comrade OB1. This is very hard to take in.

@mkatagaya @Phanerookampala Was defamation in their statement used from the angle of a "layman" or from a legal perspective? Trying to look at your post which is framed as an inquiry and looking at the ingredients of defamation, and I don't see where you stated any facts. Mpoozi gwe oli wa Watoto?!

Fantastic! Thank you for providing clarity as requested. It was concerning that there are issues being discussed in the public domain about the institution and the only response was from individuals coming up to abuse or ridicule those raising the issues. You responding to my suggestion to provide clarity is being responsible and accountable as all institutions must be. It’s leading by example and deviant to the usual impunity by institutions in our country where no one wants to explain themselves. Commendable! We can fix mis/disinformation or fake news if institutions remain avail to provide the accurate alternatives. Regarding the content of your note or the specific issues you or others you’ve listed point out, I am sure you know how to handle them with the responsible parties like government institutions responsible or the individuals. Wishing you good luck on that! On listing me with people purportedly trying to defame you, I’d refer to the original post here, and try to avoid the warring attitude that has engulfed Ugandans where every question is an opportunity to fight. Providing clarity to those who were asking is what I prompted, and am glad you did. No further engagement on this from my end. God bless you!

@Phanerookampala before more of your members eat @MwesigyeWalter like samosas in the comment section like others are already doing, is this true? Would you as an institution set the record straight? The church (the organizations/institutions just like individuals) must hold everyone accountable because it’s not “peripheral to the world” and it must also be held with an even much higher level of accountability as it’s expected to be blameless. First it was the contestation on how the institution came to acquire the land and how that impoverished people. Now, it’s allegations of blocking access by a hospital. Of course plus other things for which the rest of the church takes heat! Coming up to provide clarity sometimes helps especially for things that are public. Leaving it to online “foot soldiers” coming here to abuse people (many of them nonbelievers) counts badly on the the body of Christ. Yours, fellow believer. And @MwesigyeWalter did you speak to @Phanerookampala? That would count as balanced reporting and more informative? Thanks

Social media is quite interesting. Some use it to grow, others use it to downgrade themselves. It’s all a choice, and a personal one.

@jamesonen If prosecution can prove that at the time he committed the crime he was in a state to understand what he was doing, he will go to a mental hospital. And in my view, he is that type

@WinnieKiiza On the contrary, Lawyers worth their intellect would kill to defend him. His conduct after the act points to someone guilty with insanity. You can see he is still lost. The law has evolved so much.

@Rachealkyy Very unfortunate. I believe he is not any worse than them. It's even possible he is not mentally able to stand trial. I hope he gets a good lawyer. People like him shouldn't be just eliminated.

@ntvuganda This is simply a case of betrayal, publicly. And most probably this was simply a public display. There is no way such gangs can build up anywhere in this country without the knowledge of the security agencies.

This evening, gunshots were fired at Queen's Way as police stormed drainage channels, dismantled gang hideouts, and arrested over 100 individuals during a two-day operation by the Uganda Police Force, alongside its sister security agencies. The operation, which began on Easter Monday, led to the arrest of suspects involved in the Clock Tower phone and bag snatching incidents. The suspects were found in possession of knives, pangas, and narcotic substances. #NTVNews 📸 @lbrahim_kavuma
