@lukemalik33 @blairadowler #MKTG475 This is a good point. I wonder if eventually, social media sites will make people pay to have ad free feeds like Spotify does.

#MKTG475 Spring '23-1 Q6⃣: It's our last Twitter discussion!🤯🙁 We've talked about current social trends, mishaps, etc. Now, let's think about what's next. What do you think the future of social media marketing will look like? Emerging trends? How will it impact the world?🗺️🌐🕹

@will_behm07 @blairadowler #MKTG475 I totally agree, I think all companies will be using AI and AR technologies. I saw that they already have AI influencers on social media that replace human influencers. Scary part is, you cant tell they're AI robots they look so real.
English

@blairadowler #MKTG475 I think the future of social media marketing will revolve heavily around AI art and images. Companies will be able to create high quality promotional materials in almost no time. Unfortunately, this will negatively impact content creators
English

@blairadowler #MKTG475 I think the future of social media marketing will be more complex and more personalized. Companies will be able to use AI technologies to customize ads towards each individual consumer. No consumer will see the same ad from a company since content will be personalized.

@BraydenHornsby @blairadowler #mktg475 That was creative of Tesla! I also have not seen marketing like that before. I'm sure the uniqueness of it caught a lot of consumers attention. Did you interact with this video?

#MKTG475 Spring '23-1 Q5⃣: Let's talk content! Share a piece of organic social media content a brand has recently posted that you found refreshing or moving. Where did they post? How did you engage with the content (like, comment, share)? Why did this post catch your eye?👀🎆

#mktg475 @blairadowler In 2022, most advertisers used Twitter as their digital channel for the Superbowl. This year, most advertisers used TikTok instead and found equal-to- better performance levels. Read more below⬇️ adweek.com/media/super-bo…

@jamieshunnarah @blairadowler @LEGO_Group #mktg475 This was a great example of organic content. I also saw this same idea on Barstool WVU or dartyWVU on Instagram. It was engaging content that people then shared with others to turn it into earned media.
English

@blairadowler #MKTG475 I feel like @LEGO_Group shared organic content through their Valentine’s Day posts. They created their own Valentine cards so people could share them, while incorporating their product through them. I engaged by liking, and also shared one of the posts to a friend!
English

@blairadowler #MKTG475 Revolve shared organic content on Instagram reels. Their post demonstrated outfits they'd wear to different Valentines day events like dinner, parties, galentines day, etc (using their inventory). This post caught my eye because it gave me inspiration for my own outfits.

#mktg475 M&Ms Ad was accused of "having fun with cancel culture" by giving each M&M color a different personality and shoes to go along with the personality. After receiving criticism, M&M put the spokescandies on an indefinite pause. @blairadowler

@mwebb_jpg @blairadowler @netflix #mktg475 This is a good point! I don't think I've ever seen any of Netflix's content come up on my feed. What makes other streaming services like Disney+ and Hulu more successful when it comes to social media marketing?
English

@blairadowler I’m my opinion, @netflix seems to lack a coherent social media strategy as well as fun and engaging content to interact and build a community with its audience. #mktg475

#MKTG475 Spring '23-1 Q4⃣: Like all of us, brands (even top brands) can make mistakes, miss the mark or fail. As we form strategies & campaigns, we may think, 'what if this fails?' What brand/company do you think misses the mark with social media? Why? What should it change?⚠️🙈

@JuliannaKline01 @blairadowler @Gymshark #mktg475 I see a lot of ads for Gymshark but I never noticed this. In order to be accepted by society and successful, brands need to fulfill societal expectations. This is also why Abercrombie was not successful for a short period of time before they re-vamped their inventory.
English

@blairadowler #mktg475 @Gymshark is a brand that can sometimes miss the mark when it comes to social media. They have been the topic of negative discussion many of times because of the lack of body-inclusivity they feature. They could extend their audience if they were more inclusive.
English

@blairadowler #mktg475 to add onto my previous reply, the only way to "fix" mistakes like this would to just be more careful when using trends on social media. Look into how it may be perceived by others
English

@blairadowler #mktg475 Dominos has great marketing skills. But, they have missed "the mark" on Facebook before. They asked those called Karen to tell them why they’re a “nice” Karen, to get free pizza. This was criticized because people thought this was rewarding a privileged group in society
English

#mktg475 The NFL has seen a surge in interest in tweets this year. Because of this, Twitter has communicated for brands to use its ad options to reach active and engaged audiences during the Super Bowl. Read more here⬇️ @blairadowler socialmediatoday.com/news/twitter-m…
English

@mwebb_jpg @blairadowler #mktg475 I agree, I think it is super important to post interactive content. It influences viewers to comment, like, and share your post. This is an easy way to have earned media!
English

@blairadowler I think the use of multi-media content and interactive mediums, especially on Instagram, poses a lucrative ROI for brands as they try to reach a larger audience and create a community within their industry. #MKTG475

#MKTG475 Spring '23-1 Q3⃣: Campaign planning time is almost here! What current social media marketing trends do you hope to incorporate into a campaign for your client? Why do these trends resonate with social media users, specifically your client's target audience?🎥📸🖥️

English

@rrc0017 @blairadowler #mktg475 I have noticed this trend as well. I find that the shorter videos have the most engagement. However, I believe TikTok is now extending the maximum amount of time a video can be. Do you think this will change how successful short video clips will be?
English

@blairadowler Lately, many social media users have been enjoying the short video clips being posted on variety of platforms. By implementing that tactic, it seems it will it bring up viewer engagement. #MKTG475
English

@blairadowler #MKTG475 I would be sure to use trending sounds on TikTok and to use Reels on Instagram rather than photos. Trending sounds and reels reach larger audiences and have higher engagement rates. This will help reach more people in the target market.
