@SleepisforT Skyrim negative reviews be like "This is literally the worst game ever made, completely unplayable, and Todd Howard should be brutally ended for it."

@for3verd9eafd @jedicouncilnews Someone once observed that many Star Wars artists try to match characters to how their actors have aged, but Carrie Fisher no longer looked like herself so Leia was apparently immortal.
This is the most extreme example of that I've ever seen.
English

@jedicouncilnews I wonder if this is the same guy that did the only and ugliest DS9 comic book I ever laid eyes on.

@JusJazzinOut Blocked someone the other day for a bad opinion about Dr. Pepper. It legit just isn't that big of a deal.

Twitter becomes like 90% more enjoyable once you start abusing the block button
chia@julianmiflaco
me ever since i realized i can just block anyone who upsets me
English

@NVRMOR23 @BrianJNBA TV industry is made on the backs of that, amigo
English

@Dexerto Seriously, tho, what this perfectly illustrates is that reddit mods are moderating communities they have no actual interest in or engagement with. The mods aren't even petty tyrant fans, they're just petty tyrants period.
English

@jinijane_ She legit probably does think she looks like that, lol

My high school neighbourhood just elected a local 59yo councilwoman who campaigned in the local paper with an AI photo. Her statement: ‘I used an internet program to enhance the image because the resolution of the photo was bad. It’s simply my photo, that really is me. I use medication that’s why I look a bit different now. But yes, I do look much younger than my age. When I’m out with my son people think I’m his girlfriend. I hear that I look super young for my age all the time.’

I still have no idea how HOA's are legal and why people put up with it. The fuck you mean I'll get a fine if I park my car in front the house that I "own" lmaoooo
Travonne Edwards@Travonne
someone said HOA killed the garage band generation

@fandompulse >Create striking, impressive character
>Drop a bunch of hints at his backstory
>Immediately kill him off
>Follow up on none of the backstory yourself
>Fans call you a hack
>Sell to Disney
>Fans call you a irreplaceable generational visionary

George Lucas on his original vision for Darth Maul:
"At one point, when Obi-Wan kills Darth Maul, he just fell in the pit. I looked at it and thought this isn't going to work because, if people like him enough, they're going to want him to come back and they're going to assume somehow he gets out of it. So I had to cut him in half to say that this guy's gone, he's history, he ain't coming back. I'll come up with another apprentice. The whole issue of having apprentices, poor Darth Sidious trying to replenish his apprentice supply, is one of the main plot points."
Should Star Wars have stuck to this original vision?

@PeterjgrahamN @TheFigen_ No, she's being a special level of entitled.
English

@TheFigen_ This is the best sales pitch for self parking cars ever, although I have never witnessed anybody holding a spot like this - is it a common American thing??
English

@TheCinesthetic A joke, but also one of several scenes that shows his claims of class warfare and genuine artistic purity had just become excuses for petty vengeance.
English

@south_23rd @girdley It's also the fact that by treating it as essentially a teaching moment, where he points out the difference between Worf's behavior and Riker's, he's helping Worf realize how he needs to act to be a good officer.
Difference between correction and reprimand.
English

The lesson isn't just reminding him who is in charge, but being very specific and direct about the expectations and the best way for his officer to support him. If Data wasn't explicit and clear about the guidelines (and the purpose for them!) it very well could've just devolved into a personality conflict.
The lesson here is communication. Not power.

“Slusho uses a secret ingredient. nectar of the sea is known as an addictive substance from the ocean floor that causes growth. now what if some kind of creature had constant access to this? They built an oil station to monitor it. It’s owned by Tagruato who ALSO owns Slusho…”

Remember the unreal hype there was around 2007-2008 for 'Cloverfield'?

@alihamka48 @ShieldsClips And they think you deserve it for not worshiping them. Their narcissism is so intense that even when they acknowledge they screwed the world, they hate you for being mad at them over it.
English

@ShieldsClips The worst generation ever are the boomers they are one of the first generations to literally pray for the downfall of every generation after them.
English

@NebsGoodTakes They seem to have been convinced that social media buzz is the only metric that matters and that sales are irrelevant.
English

@HistoryWJacob Yap like this is usually just either boomers thinking their paper route made them as responsible and tough as a coal miner, or delulu "based" dudes who think they'd have been able to achieve their dream of being a Roman warlord if not for being forced to attend 6th grade.

The concept of "teenager" is a modern invention.
For most of human history, a boy of 13 was already a man, apprenticed in a trade or fighting in a war.
George Washington was a professional surveyor at 16.
Alexander Hamilton managed a trading company at 14.
In medieval Europe, noble boys could be pages at 7 and squires by 14.
In Rome, a boy put on the "toga of manhood" at 14.
The idea that an 18 year-old is "still figuring things out" would have been incomprehensible to our ancestors.
I believe this is why we think teenagers are so troubled. They are men and women stuck in a society that treats them as children. Of course they are going to "rebel".
We should give them more responsibility and expect much more of them.
