While progress is evident, more can be done. Counties were urged to explore innovative financing options, strengthen collaboration and enhance accountability. Stronger #OSR means greater autonomy, resilience and responsiveness to citizens’ needs.

He highlighted progress under KDSP II, including rollout of revenue mapping guidelines & forecasting tools to improve efficiency and predictability. Many counties are already recording growth in OSR, translating into better services, infrastructure and livelihoods.

The Panel was appointed by H.E. @WilliamsRuto via Gazette Notice No. 5050 of 10th April 2026 and is chaired by Deputy Head of Public Service, @Amos_Gathecha and will oversee a transparent, merit-based process in line with principles of good governance. #DevolutionKE

Discussions highlighted key gains of the Second Kenya Devolution Support Program (KDSP II) in Murang’a County and explored collaboration on the LESH model to boost local economic development. The proposal was positively received, with further review and feedback expected.

This morning, @Devolution_KE Director for Planning, Dr. Jackson Otieno, represented PS Michael Lenasalon, @impeccableNomad, in hosting Kiringai Kamau (CECM Devolution) and Isaac Karoga (CECM Health) for a consultative meeting. #DevolutionKE

Urban planning reforms and environmental sustainability efforts were highlighted. Nairobi Governor @SakajaJohnson emphasized efficiency, while a unified implementation matrix was proposed to strengthen coordination, tracking and delivery of services across the city.
