Morning all. The reason for my long face is I've put my retirement papers in. I'll be hanging up my saddle soon and moving to an undisclosed location in the countryside. But in the meantime there's plenty of mischief to be had and pictures to take

@JulesB_07 @littledave72 @PC_Reed Agreed lunging is not good for heavies. Long reining or leading out in hand on long walks for a bit then short ridden hacks building them up. Just grooming and spending time will build a bond. Firm but fair with these powerful horses

She does a bit yes ! She’s very green im a bit out of my depth as she’s so large she’s not interested in lunging it’s very hard to get her going she will then just stop and not move she’s huge so there’s not much point in pushing her around and I certainly won’t make her there’s little benefit in that not sure how to move forward currently trying to gain her trust she’s been a field ornament for 5 years xx

It is with a very heavy heart that I type this. In the summer I took Dex to his new retirement home, where he settled with lots of new friends. Sadly now he has Crossed the rainbow bridge and is with old friends eating grass with the sun on his back. Run free big man ❤️🐴

I’ve been on response 16 years. It’s hard, gritty, traumatic. However, it’s not fair or helpful to dismiss the work of our detective colleagues. Put me in a room with a man with a knife, I’ll deal. A complex crime interview? Not so much. We all bring something to the table.

@DogDetectiveWag Yeah pretty much. You got it. Response turn up usually meet the angry person and do the real dirty work before the pen and paper clipboards turn up later. After a death message is done or a locus is secured and angry person detained after a struggle at 4am.

So I have been following the #London adventures of @ShortArmOfLaw in recent days. I'm glad that he was able to visit @MetTaskforce HQ & inspect @MPSonthewater & visit the stables at Great Scotland Yard. I am happy he enjoyed the visit & found us up to scratch.

I was a great advocate for napping on the job, let the people vent they're not angry at you & remember treats usually get given after the angry people go home ,🐴🍏🥕
