@Stevenb2606 @GrahamSpiers @TonyH_Pattaya Nah he's talking about the "conspiracy theory" about those two, and that it should be finished now, but it won't end because of that decision or result, it will carry on as usual.

@GrahamSpiers @TonyH_Pattaya Not at all actually , as I’ve said i usually respect your views . Can I ask what you meant by describing John Beaton and Andrew Dallas as brothers? And why you thought that they were conspirators in Celtic winning somehow ?

Tonight marks the official death of refereeing conspiracy-theory in Scottish football. Just to repeat: the two men who conspired to get Celtic out of jail at Fir Park - and very likely hand them the title - were Brothers John Beaton and [VAR] Andrew Dallas. Hilariously true.🤣

There is no Managers / Coaches Union in Scotland I am aware of. The reality is, the vast majority of SWPL & SWF managers / coaches are unpaid for the actual work they are required to do. Most of us have 40 hour a week FT jobs then commit…(cont)

An awful lot of revisionism taking place about the Slattery ban that was dished out yesterday. First of all, the referee did NOT see the incident, he had his back to it as play was miles away from where it happened. The assitant referee also missed it. The red card was advised by the 4th official via communication to the ref who really then had no choice but to give it, presumably thinking VAR would call a review if something was amiss. VAR, for whatever reason, decided it wasn't a clear and obvious error so did not seek to get involved. You can probably imagine, in real time, what the 4th official might have thought he saw. The failure here, other than the cheating itself of course, is that VAR just shrugged it's shoulders and decided there was nothing amiss. Had VAR done it's job, the red would have been overturned, and I don't even think Slattery would have got booked, and the incident would have passed with virtually no further comment. As it is, Saints were reduced to ten men for 30 mins, during which they lost two further goals. Motherwell benefitted from this cheating, like it or not, and the player has now been punished for his role in that and made an example of. Players dive and simulate every week, in EVERY team, yes, but the tech is supposed to be there to help eliminate penalties or red cards being given after simulation. In 2026 a player in the Premiership should not be getting sent off as a result of a player blatantly simulating violent conduct. Motherwell expecting "consistency going forward" are going to be disappointed because the chances of all of the events that happened here taking place again are incredibly slim. Slattery has paid the price for the VAR failure here, but end of the day, he's cheated, and he knew full well what he was doing. Keep seeing folk crying about a 4 game ban. It's a two game ban, same as Richard King would have got for his supposed "violent conduct". It only becomes 4 if he does it again, and although in this particular individuals case you can never rule that out (he had already feigned violent conduct against St.Mirren this season at Fir Park) the chances of him doing it again, and getting a fellow pro sent off again, are negible for the reasons I've already given.

@scotttrev92 I mean, you can very clearly see in the photo above that Slattery's arm is already down and King decided to take a swipe anyway.

Not to drag up old arguements but surely this just shows that King lashes out at Slattery. It's filmed off a potato so you can't actually see where his hand is but regardless of contact (or lack of) it's the intent that makes it violent conduct.
rendrocxof@jim5458

@PremSportsTV @sbk I’m a Motherwell fan but this is never a Red Card. This is as close as King he gets to Slattery’s face. Poor all round . Motherwell don’t need to resort to this to beat this St Mirren team.

Much has been done to improve the speed of the game but yesterday was a prime example at how teams are just allowed to destroy a game of football. MLS puts players off for 2 mins if they stay down for more than 15 seconds. It reduced ‘injuries’ by over 50% overnight.

Among gaming legends (Sid Meier, Jordan Mechner, Peter Molyneux, Richard Garriott, etc.), I sometimes feel that Geoff Crammond gets mentioned too little. Stunt Car Racer was a 1989 marvel. Its 3D vector graphics earned critical acclaim as unprecedented to such a high level. Geoff Crammond spent 3 years on this masterpiece's brilliant polygon graphics and realistic physics. Cars flew over ramps, landed smoothly (or badly, per angle and speed), and sped around banked corners. The iconic "cracking" sound and visual for damage was a wonderful detail. It was easy to understand and hard to master, with challenging higher divisions, better opponents, and tougher tracks. Geoff Crammond would go on to create the legendary Formula One Grand Prix series a few years later, and you could see his talent early with Revs (1986) and Stunt Car Racer (1989).

I remember the strong divide between "Sensible Soccer" and "Kick Off" fans. I'm in the Sensible Soccer camp: smoother graphics, better ball control, and brilliant sounds. Don't get me wrong, Kick Off (1 and 2) was great too, but I'd pick Sensible World of Soccer (Sensible Software, 1994). Other football/soccer games like MicroProse Soccer (1988), Goal (1993), or Player Manager (1990) existed, but Sensible Soccer probably holds the #1 legacy spot - unless I am overlooking a major title? Which was your favorite?

@exquizitely Loved both kick off 2 and sensible soccer. I liked microprose but it didn't really compare. Emlyn Hughes international soccer was the benchmark for any that followed after as far as I'm concerned.

@HFT3102000 @DavieTheBuddie1 It's minimum contact at best, but that is the risk of using it as a tactic when refs are so inconsistent. Can you imagine if that became a minimum standard for a "block" be no point taking corners or putting free kicks in the box 😂

Why does a referee need 2 go 2 the monitor 4 an offside decision. I can understand 4 a penalty or red card but never 4 offside. At 3-1 the game is over & St Mirren get the 3pts. Baffling

@ScotlandSky Both teams were terrible the first half, Killie didn't help themselves playing one up front. They improved slightly once they brought Anderson on but tactically they made it easy for Aberdeen to hold on to their lead. This is a rinse and repeat kettlewell line.
