@Farsh_G Congrats and thanks for posting the clips! Fun to watch you play a few points "for real".

Could not be more excited that my partner Matt & I just won the National Masters #racquetball championship out of an incredible field of players including 6x world #1 Marty Hogan and 5x world champion Sudsy Monchik. Our last match was great fun with a fantastic crowd watching!

@MaerzAndBlue @Farsh_G @NMRAPrez @appletonlab @ajknights7 @TDCapellini If we can't handle the random hotel guest Jean Pierre I don't think we are ready for Farsh. Farsh would love Padel though - most of the fun parts of raquetball but outside and less chance of getting whacked. I will be ready for 2027...
English

@Farsh_G @NMRAPrez Wow! We should've brought you onto the Paddle court in Tuscany.
@Diekman_Lab @appletonlab @ajknights7 @TDCapellini we'll need to practice a bit more...

Closing out match #4 of the National Master's #racquetball tournament - somehow we are still undefeated, thanks to my partner Matt Davenport's photonic serves and incredible shots. Thanks @NMRAPrez for a great tournament!

Congrats to the newest doctor walking around Chapel Hill: Dr. Michaela Copp! First PhD defense from @Diekman_Lab and another awesome student from @jointbme.

@GrainOfScience @danielle_rux @GordonConf I'm in! Trying to learn epigenetics myself so happy to trade thoughts!
English

@danielle_rux @GrainOfScience @GordonConf Can't wait! I may or may not have moved my teaching responsibility to the fall just to make sure I could attend this whole meeting...

@JHElisseeff @UDelaware You gave me heart palpitations with your first 1.5 sentences. We need to keep you in academia! And glad your brother has joined you...

There has been a lot on twitter about academia and industry moves. Today I can finally announce that after many decades in industry my brother is now a professor @UDelaware Chemical Engineering! cbe.udel.edu/people/faculty…

@ShouanZhu Hang in there Shouan! Your work is fantastic and the hard work will keep paying off in terms of papers, grants, and eventually helping patients! Guessing it's part starting the lab, part raising two kids, and then especially the synergistic exhaustion of the two...

Paper out today in Aging Cell! Ever wonder how much DNA damage accumulates in chondrocytes during "normal" aging? We found out - a lot! Check out paper by @jointbme Diekman Lab grad student Michaela Copp and others from @UNCTARC here: doi.org/10.1111/acel.1…

@JHElisseeff @HopkinsMedicine @MayoClinic @NIH @FertigLab @cahanLab Great news! Excited to see what you find with this powerful approach!

Excited to work with colleagues at @HopkinsMedicine @MayoClinic and @NIH nia on senescent cells. @FertigLab @cahanLab and others

It was recognized early on that our #SenNet program could benefit from studying #SenescentCells in mice to gain insights into #HumanHealth. Flash forward to today, five Murine Tissue Mapping Centers have been established to make this possible. Read more: go.usa.gov/xhqry.

@Awad_Lab @Farsh_G @ORSsociety Congrats Farsh! I know this one will mean more to him than all his other ORS awards. Great example to all of us when we are tempted to think productivity and supportive mentoring are at odds. Farsh has shown that you can create a culture that does both!
English

Congratulations @Farsh_G for winning the 2022 @ORSsociety's Outstanding Achievement in #Mentoring Award.

I really only use Twitter for work so 90% of you getting this tweet are already giving much of your energy and time towards MSK research. For the remaining 10%, consider joining me in supporting TARC! give.communityfunded.com/o/unc-chapel-h…

Thanks to @MaerzAndBlue for engaging with the chat feature during our senescence symposium! The chat will stay up since not a "live session" so others can join in when they watch later. @Guilak_Lab @JHElisseeff @bxjohnstone cattendee.abstractsonline.com/meeting/9235/S…

Which one of these did Lou forget to include in his #ORS2021 talk? Fantastic insight into risk for ACL tears, a fedora, self-deprecating humor, Chuck Norris jokes, a cameo of his infamous Hawaiian shirt, Wookie noises? @defratelab cattendee.abstractsonline.com/meeting/9235/S…

Just watched Farsh nail his Kappa Delta talk summarizing work from @Guilak_Lab on biological joint resurfacing. So grateful that this project was my introduction to research! @TheBradEstes trained me and Frank Moutos always inspiring. Congrats on the award!
