In Somalia — already ravaged by drought and the dismantling of USAID — rice and wheat flour prices have doubled, diesel has more than doubled, and water costs have tripled at some public wells. The World Food Program warns that those facing acute hunger globally will rise to 363 million — 45 million more than before the war — if hostilities continue beyond June.
