Dear Chief Minister Joseph Vijay — these should be your top priorities and responsibilities! @TVKVijayHQ has been busy with the swearing-in ceremony, oath-taking as MLA, meeting leaders and dignitaries, and managing the floor test. I was waiting for the dust to settle so that you, @CMOTamilnadu , would have the time to focus on governance, priorities, and long-term administration. To make things easier for you, I am listing a few suggestions after speaking to people from different walks of life. In no particular order: 1. Take strict action against corrupt former ministers from both DMK and ADMK. Establish more special courts to expedite corruption cases and reduce judicial backlog. 2. Free Tamil cinema from monopolistic control so that the industry becomes a genuine level playing field for producers, distributors, and theatre owners alike. 3. Empower the narcotics wing with stronger authority and resources to eliminate the drug menace ruthlessly. 4. TASMAC — regulate the opening and closing timings of all shops and bars. Ensure every rupee of TASMAC revenue enters the official system transparently and is meaningfully utilized. Keep your party members, MLAs, and ministers away from TASMAC. During the previous DMK and ADMK regimes, it was often alleged that MLAs and ministers themselves were running the liquor business. 5. Please meet the press regularly. You have never directly interacted with the media in an open format, which remains the most important bridge between the government and ordinary citizens. You are no longer just an actor. 6. Considering your political and administrative inexperience, appoint a high-level advisory council consisting of retired IAS/IPS officers, judges, economists, scientists, teachers, journalists, entrepreneurs, and eminent scholars. 7. Since you promised transparent governance, carry out a complete overhaul of the bureaucracy and appoint efficient, honest, and corruption-free officers to key positions. 8. Unlike previous governments, maintain a constructive working relationship with the Central Government. Better coordination with Delhi will bring more investments, infrastructure projects, industries, and jobs to Tamil Nadu. 9. Completely revamp the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), which many believe still functions under DMK influence. 10. Introduce live telecasts of Assembly proceedings. This is healthy for democracy, transparency, and fairness to both the ruling and opposition parties. 11. Introduce stricter attendance and accountability systems for government employees, including punch-in and punch-out mechanisms where appropriate. Governance must become more performance-oriented and citizen-focused. 12. Digitize more government services to reduce corruption, human error, and delays. 13. Upgrade the state syllabus to match modern national and international standards while preserving Tamil identity and culture. 14. Introduce more skill-based, employment-oriented, and industry-linked educational courses. 15. Consider stronger regulations to address social media addiction among minors, especially excessive reels consumption. 16. Strengthen MSMEs aggressively. A thriving MSME ecosystem creates jobs, attracts investments, and strengthens the local economy. 17. Restore and clean Tamil Nadu’s rivers, especially the Cooum. Urban rejuvenation must become a major priority. 18. Invest heavily in infrastructure, tourism, public spaces, and urban aesthetics to improve Tamil Nadu’s global image. 19. Arrange structured governance and administrative training for your relatively inexperienced cabinet ministers. Exposure visits to other Indian states and successful global governance models could help tremendously. 20. Revive Amma Canteens and Amma Water. They provided a much-needed cushion during natural calamities, especially during and after the 2015 Chennai floods. 21. Reintroduce the daily pass system, which was scrapped long ago. It would allow travel on any city bus across any route. 22. Legalize toddy and introduce a Kerala-style regulatory arrangement. Toddy is a natural beverage and is arguably less harmful than ethanol-based liquor. 23. Electricity consumption readings should be taken every month instead of once every two months. The “100 units free per month” policy may then be implemented more effectively. 24. Establish a separate department dedicated to ensuring women’s safety. Punishments for crimes against women should be swift and strict. 25. Establish free NEET coaching centres so that poor aspirants can benefit. Please do not politicize NEET. NEET is here to stay. 26. Make local government bodies work closely with resident welfare associations to keep neighborhoods clean and well-maintained. Last but not least: 27. Celebrate Tamil history, culture, kings, scholars, scientists, and icons proudly by using their names for renaming purposes. Tamil Nadu must modernize without losing its civilizational identity. You have received a historic mandate. History will not remember speeches, symbolism, or cinematic punch dialogues. It will remember governance, delivery, integrity, and transformation. As I mentioned in my earlier quoted post, considering your political inexperience, you deserve at least six months before people like me begin evaluating your performance. Entire India loves Tamil Nadu, respects its people, language and culture. Even in North India, like in UP, Tamil signboards have been put up as a mark of respect. Tamil Nadu’s IPL team CSK has fans all across India. Tamil superstars like Rajinikanth, Dhanush, Vijay, Ajith, Vikram have pan India fanbase. Then why do Tamil Nadu leaders repeatedly insult Sanatan Dharma? Why do they talk about eradicating it? Why do they compare Sanatan Dharma to dengue and malaria? Sanatan Dharma is the faith of Hindus across India and the world. Then why is it repeatedly insulted? What problem do leaders like Udhayanidhi Stalin have with it?

Vijay should thank MK Stalin for deliberately botching a potential DMK–ADMK alliance that would have stopped him from becoming CM! Vijay receiving support from VCK, CPI, and CPM is not only because of the mature and magnanimous handling of the situation by MK Stalin, but also because of his willpower to fight off his own family. The entire Stalin clan was in favor of an unprecedented alliance with arch-rival ADMK (well, not after EPS took over), to ensure Vijay was taken out of the equation and Udhayanidhi became Chief Minister. EPS was keen too, and that is precisely why his MLAs were locked in a resort till this evening. Stalin stood his ground and even encouraged his alliance partners to support Vijay. This is a victory for democracy. There is no way VCK, CPI, and CPM would have supported Vijay without speaking to MK Stalin. @TVKVijayHQ should thank @mkstalin for saving him from a potential DMK - ADMK alliance!

On this eventful day, I realized MK Stalin is a Gentleman and EPS is a Scumbag! Till this morning, there were talks between the DMK first family and EPS to explore the possibility of a DMK–ADMK coalition government. The person who was most interested was Durga Stalin. She always wanted to make her son the next Chief Minister. In fact, it was her long-standing wish to see her son becoming CM, hence all the temple visits. The deal that was being discussed was a 50:50 arrangement, where Udhayanidhi would be CM for 2½ years and EPS for the rest. Now you can decipher why EPS locked up his MLAs in some resort. He feared his MLAs might desert him, support Vijay, and form a TVK–ADMK coalition government instead. ADMK MLAs know very well that they have no future; hence, they felt Vijay could give them a lifeline. Isn’t EPS a scumbag? @EPSTamilNadu When the idea was pitched to MK Stalin, he summarily rejected it, saying it would hurt the DMK’s future badly. He also asked the CPI, CPM, and VCK to support Vijay in forming the next government (probably with sinister motives, which are not uncommon in politics). Without his permission, these parties would not have supported @TVKVijayHQ I have a million reasons to criticize MK Stalin on governance and administration. But, today, I realized that he is a perfect gentleman! Hats Off, Sir! @mkstalin
