What is stopping more family farms that don't have an on-farm kid from establishing a succession plan to a non-relative/employee? Rather than selling the farm for parts. Maybe hire someone with this framework: → 2 yr trial period → Competitive farm manager salary → Business mgmt transition plan (1st) → Ownership transition plan (2nd) → Protections in place for both parties Generally, it's the same approach as a succession plan to the farmers' son or daughter... just might have less family drama involved. Employees buy out small business owners in other industries all the time. Genuinely curious what the perceived roadblocks are.

@Dillonlaw @ItlAnon @WideRtNattyLt @calt Most lawyers don’t need special Ag Law classes to help farmers. I have a Drake JD (one of the few law schools with an Ag law program) & my brother has an Iowa JD. He does Ag law I don’t.

Good morning. The University of Iowa sells millions of dollars in ANF apparel every single year while not offering a single major in the field of agriculture. They have never and still do not care about Farmers.

Texas Government is NEVER having to say you are sorry. @TxDOT cuts a stand of trees it did not have a right to cut. Landowner had to fight 8 lawyers from Texas Attorney General all the way to Texas Supreme Court to win the right to a trial over 250K for the lost trees. @TXlege
