Having a job usually means someone has a basic ID like a driver’s license or work ID.
But that is not proof of citizenship. Many lawful non-citizens work in the U.S. and have ID too.
That is exactly why the SAVE America Act does not rely on most IDs. It requires passports or certified birth certificates presented during registration.
The real issue is that adding new federal paperwork requirements creates friction for lawful voters who already meet state verification systems.
