It is true, and at the same time, Nelson Mandela and his generation were responsible for convincing the ANC to shift from non-violence to armed struggle.
It through that their advocacy and policy shift legitimised Winnie’s violence and militancy,we do not know what Mandela might have done had he not been arrested.
