I am deeply saddened at the destruction and suffering caused by the recent earthquake in Venezuela. It’s during times like these, moments of crisis, that we really see the strength and heart of humanity shine through. We’re seeing that now with the fires affecting Colorado and the countless people volunteering and donating to help those being impacted. Here’s where we stand on the Generox initiative supporting Direct Relief’s response in Venezuela: ✅ $2,065.43 has now been converted from XPR → XUSDC through on-chain swaps and is ready for donation. ✅ A separate 38.132714 XUSDC ($38.13) donation was sent as a test transaction using existing USDC already in the wallet. This was not part of the XPR swaps and was intentionally used to verify the Direct Relief donation address before sending the larger amount. Current totals: • 🔄 Swapped from XPR: 2,066.363416 XUSDC (≈ $2,065.43) • ✅ Test donation already sent: 38.132714 XUSDC (≈ $38.13) • 💜 Total HEAL funds allocated to Direct Relief: ≈ $2,103.56 • ⏳ Pending final transfer after test confirmation: ≈ $2,065.43 Every swap has been documented. In response to the devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela, AWMH is granting $100,000 in support through longtime partner @directrelief. While the full scale of the damage is yet to be determined, the United Nations is reporting that up to 6.8 million Venezuelans may be affected, including those displaced or losing access to electricity and water. More than 68,000 people were reported missing within three days of the disaster, and the official death toll is approaching 2,000. Direct Relief is preparing medical aid commonly needed after earthquakes, including first-aid supplies, hygiene items for displaced families, medicines used to treat acute injuries, and chronic disease medications for people whose access to routine care may be interrupted.
