you are choosing really bad examples. there are models that can create artist level meshes, low poly, performant, with good UVs and textures etc. you can even ask your favorite SOTA ai to edit them in blender. simplify geometry, fix UVs, even generate new textures.
even if everything you said is correct today, your comment will age poorly in the next couple of years.
models will be able to generate PERFECT meshes within the next 2 years.

Actual 3D artist. None of these are "production ready". Too high poly, can't be animated, nonsensical UVs and seams, lighting baked into textures, fused geometry, can't be revised or edited, can't be used for bakes.
If you turned this in, any AAA studio would fire you.

@BradyHartel I think people are arguing about the wrong thing. I can buy an MP3 file and play it on any number of devices for the foreseeable future and store it digitally on my own drive/cloud of my choosing. If a game's files are worthless because the servers shut down, it's a problem.

Maybe a controversial opinion but physical media doesn't NEED to be discs. If there's a more cost-effective format, like flash memory, do that, and I think consumers won't mind. But I think the important thing is it being PHYSICAL so there's some agency in your media purchases.
