This is not just one person's experience. This is now the experience of the majority of Jewish medical students and young doctors @UofT. There was no anti semitism when I was there - or least I never felt it. In the last 5 years or more it's been pervasive, systematic and getting worse. The question is why? Ask yourselves what has changed in our society that now makes this acceptable again. Hint - it's not about Israel. The demonization of Israel is just the new way to justify it.

On Thursday @marcomendicino and I visited the encampment at UBC and saw signs glorifying violence and terrorist organizations. We are a country of law. The laws protect all of us. They need to be applied.

Today, Vancouver City Hall and Burrard Bridge will be illuminated for Israel's 76th Independence Day. We recognize and uphold fundamental freedoms of speech and the ability to peacefully protest whether at City Hall, or across Vancouver.
