Entre l’euphorie légitime suscitée par la qualification au mondial, la croisade de moins en moins discrète contre la Constitution et pour un éventuel troisième mandat, et la cristallisation d’un statu quo sécuritaire dans l’Est de la RDC, une tragédie humaine continue de se dérouler en Ituri dans une indifférence insane. En territoire de Mambasa notamment, la violence ne faiblit pas, elle s’intensifie. Dans la nuit du 1er au 2 avril, le village de Bafwakoa, sur l’axe Kisangani-Ituri, a été la cible d’une attaque des ADF, faisantau moins 43 civils tués (certaines sources locales évoquent un bilan supérieur à 70 morts). Des maisons incendiées. Des véhicules et motos réduits en cendres. Des civils massacrés à la machette ou brûlés vifs dans leurs habitations. Au moins deux personnes ont été enlevées. Quelques jours plus tard, dans la nuit de Pâques (du 5 au 6 avril), les mêmes terroristes frappent cette fois au cœur même de Mambasa-centre. Des maisons et des boutiques ont été incendiées, des commerces pillés, et des civils enlevés pour transporter le butin dans la brousse. Le 9 avril, une nouvelle attaque vise un village, à proximité de Mambasa-centre. Entre 27 et 30 civils sont kidnappés, selon la société civile locale. En ce moment-ci, des dizaines de familles pleurent leurs morts. D’autres vivent dans l’angoisse insoutenable, sans nouvelles de leurs proches enlevés, livrés à eux-mêmes dans la brousse, entre les mains de ces terroristes affiliés à l’État islamique. Cette tragédie n’est pas nouvelle. Mais elle devient de plus en plus intolérable. On l’évoque d’un regard distrait; on noie les disparus dans l’anonymat de la comptabilité macabre devenue routinière. Combien de morts faudra-t-il encore pour susciter une indignation nationale et internationale à la hauteur de ce drame ? Combien de vies fauchées, de villages devront être rayés de la carte pour que l’on considère enfin que ce qui se passe en Ituri est une urgence absolue ? ➡️ Regardons vers l’Ituri. ➡️ Parlons de l’Ituri. ➡️ Agissons pour l’Ituri. La vie de ces populations compte. Leur souffrance ne peut rester en marge de nos priorités.
