The amount of energy my clinic spends fighting Blue Cross alone is insane. They will process the same service differently on the same EOB and patient. Each time they make an error it costs my team 30-60 minutes of admin follow up time and it costs us another 45+ business days for it to be corrected and get payment for our work. It is no wonder that many doctors sell or do cash only which only hurts the patient more and give disincentives for doctors to go into private practice - which is what is really best for the patient. But the ones that survive and the big corporations , not small private practice.

No. SNAP and tax breaks are both government assistance. They are intentional policy decisions that America made, just delivered differently. SNAP is a direct benefit for the poor. Many tax breaks are subsidies delivered through the tax code that disproportionately benefit the wealthy ("tax expenditures")
Tax breaks are not just "keeping your own money." They do not simply fall out of the sky. They are intentionally and systematically engineered to benefit specific groups
For example, we choose these policies to provide social services (such as food for poor children, which Republicans oppose), tax breaks for estate taxes that only affect the ultra wealthy, and long-term capital gains benefits (including the intentional choice of who benefits from LTCG)
