Well another lazy train driver bank holiday weekend working Wasn't expecting early morning to be isolating brakes on a bogie to clear the mainline though! Just what u need in this heat Block on Feet on the ballast Bloody trains! No 1 in 5 rule was affected during this process 😁

@RPMarks @BMLBod Yes remember it well under GW Holdings. Was good to see it continue, albeit for only a short while.

@BMLBod Hmm. The Intercity brand was made available to suitable TOCs in the early privatisation years (because it was apparently indispensible). Only Great Western took it up, and they quickly phased to out when the new brand proved stronger.

No InterCity. It’s one of the strongest brands the railway ever created and they should absolutely resurrect it under GBR. I hope the government doesn’t see it as too linked to BR, because it has definitely transcended it in the public consciousness.

@mitchell_hurd @EastMidRailway Yeah I can imagine it’s hectic!!! Shame you can’t just temporarily renumber, and spec to the minimum possible. Would be far too expensive unfortunately

@SteelCityDog_ To be fair it’s been like this for years and with the play off between two clubs close to Manchester traincrew availability will be even poorer this weekend.

@SteelCityDog_ Yes when there was disruption due to a points failure at Dore last month Northern services were cancelled. EMR refused SSOs and we crawled through Edale with dozens of Sunday walkers waiting on the platform.

Going well on the Hope Valley. First train of the day from and to Manchester is cancelled (2S70/2S73). As the 1015 diagram currently doesn't exist, the first train of the day is at 1115. With the weather as it is, and it being a bank holiday weekend, this is utterly disastrous.
