That's the point of the post though, global warming is raising the ceiling to limits previously thought impossible for our country, that said, mid 30s was the previous limit, 37c was exceptional for 1911, likewise was 36c in 1976, until 2022 came around and smashed it, and now we're reaching those extreme levels of 1911 and 1976 in May!

The current heatwave has gotten me thinking, what's the theoretical ceiling for maximum temperatures in this country
For a long time 40c was viewed as practically impossible until it happened in 2022, and even then that day was arguably stunted slightly by a front from the west, it could've been hotter
If 35c is achievable in May, what's possible now in July?
